I did not have good service here. I was given a gift certificate by my husband. When I went in they were rude, fast and cut my finger. I did not even get a sorry or anything....just looked at it wiped the blood away and kept going. They knew the money was already there and did not even try for customer service.
City Nails in The Colony is a great little neighborhood nail salon. I've been going there for over a year and the service is awesome. Rarely do I have to wait and the best part is I'm usually in and out in about 60-70 mins. I'm not one that likes to wait for a fill and pedicure for a long time. I love the pedi spas too. Very relaxing. Give it a shot if you're looking for a nail place that's easy and comfortable as well as really affordable.
I had been a regular customer, and a very generous tipper at City Nails for at least 5 years. I invited my son's girlfriend for a girls day out, calling City Nails ahead to make a pair of manicure/pedicure appointments to be sure we would have a relaxing morning and good service before heading to the mall to shop. When we arrived, there was only one technician working on one other customer. We waited half an hour before another worker arrived. She said that she could not help us because the other woman had an appointment. I pointed out to her that we also had a appointments. Her response was, "So sorry" as she went to assist the other technician with the other customer, rudely turning her back on us, almost pretending we were not there. Another 15 minutes passed before the owner and several other technicians finally arrived. 45 minutes after a scheduled appointment, we finally had someone start our spa day. I spoke with the owner, noting that no technicians had been scheduled despite our appointment. Her response was "so sorry..." That was it. I felt my son's girlfriend and I were taken for granted, and disrespected. What should have been a special bonding experience was ruined by extremely poor customer service. I stated as much to the owner. No action was taken. Needless to say, I paid the bill but will be looking for another nail salon for future manicure/pedicures. I will not tolerate this level of poor service. They simply didn't care. Because of the disrespectful treatment, City Nails lost a customer. I would not recommend City Nails.
The service is fabulous it's very detailed and throughout which release my week worth of stress i noticed that the place has gone under new management for a few years now and it has gotten even better. 2 HD tv on each side for everyone to watch a mini fridge with free soft drinks the place looks so much cleaner too they have recently have a few discounts and promotion which is always nice it just feels great to be here
Want 10 reasons NOT to go there? I took my mother, sister and law (it was her b-day) and niece there...it was horrible! 1. The room is huge, yet they squeeze everything together in one corner. I had to crawl over people just to get to my chair. The lighting was bad. They can't even see well-enough to paint your nails evenly.(my mom had red nail polish all over her fingers and sides of her nails) 2. Rude service!!! When they found out that I didn't live around there, and therefore wouldn't be back, the service and attitudes changed. 3. They pretended not to understand me when I told them specifically what services I wanted. She tried to upgrade my service throughout the whole visit. I had to keep telling her that I just wanted the basic package, when she attempted to give me the deluxe package when she squeezed fruit on my legs and rubbed this sugar stuff on me (Ouch!!! I had just shaved, and citrus juice and sugar doesn't feel good at all!!!) 4. I got the pedicure and manicure package for $35, but didn't even get a real pedicure. She offered to buff my feet for an extra $5. I thought that was included with the basic pedi. She lied and said that she already had done it and my feet didn't need it (unless I wanted to pay an additional $5). 5. She used her long nail to jab into the side of my nails when she was wiping the excess polish away. (she also did it to my 5 yr old niece even after she said it hurt!). 6. They don't offer refreshments (Ie; cold drinks, wine...), they didn't offer us a magazine to look out during our pedicures, nor did they assist us with the massage remote on the chairs (they didn't work right). 7. My mom had to go back and look for her shoes because they didn't carry them over to the manicure station after her pedicure. 8.I hate when you know they're probably talking about you, and complaining about working, and how stupid they think you are, etc...but you can't understand a word there saying...you just know they are, though. 9. Every corner was cut for them to save a dime...they used tissue to separate my toes (which didn't work) instead of the foam toe separators, their tools don't look sanitized properly (no labeled chemical jars, etc..) 10. I received no 'Thanks' from them for the $130 I spent (I even tipped $10) on horrible service!!!
