As an overseas to Brisbane attending a family wedding, unbeknownst to me I was booked in by my Aussie sister for a blow dry at a local hair dresser, immediately after my arrival in Brisbane. We had been travelling for 2 1/2 days without sleeps. On arrival at the salon the hair dresser was busy,so I returned to our apartment and took a shower, washed my hair, then returned with it wet so that only a blow dry was needed. I was shocked that a 10 minute job was charged at $44.00 AUS! When I left the hairdresser my sister-in-law, also attending the same wedding and with similar medium length hair advised me that she had been charged $39.00 AUS for a full shampoo, scalp massage and blow dry. Unable to return to the hairdresser, and returning to NZ, I tried to locate an email address to write instead- but there isn't one. The Contact Us form on the website allows bookings only, so I filled in this section hoping to obtain an email address. No luck- just a noreply email. I would like to ask for a partial refund in all fairness. Or is it a custom at this salon to overcharge overseas visitors when that they don't know the going rate?
