omg this is the worst place I have ever gone to get gel nails. It only lasted 3 days before they started to crack and it cost me $15 just to get them to remove the nails and they didnt even remove them very good!!!!! they told me the rest will come off when my nails grow out! god I cant see how these people are still in business! DONT GO HERE FOR YOUR NAILS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YOUR BETTER OFF DOING THEM YOUR SELF THEN GOING HERE Im using my sons google account just to get the information out about this place and just for further information I went to the mcmac location and they are moving to another location (I wonder why) the other spice nail locations might be good but this location isnt

So, I went to the Spice Nails in Scotia Square for a pedicure. It was perfect. $28, massage chairs, friendly staff and so well done it's lasted 6 weeks! I would highly recommend. I am going to the mic mac location tonight, so we'll see if their standards are as high.

I had UV Gel nails put on April 20th. A few days ago I noticed pain in my cuticles, and a few hours later ALL my nails around the edges started bleeding. They bled for two days, and now I am left with scabs and pain around the edges of all my nails. I have heard from a few people that they tell you they use uv gel, but it is actually acrylic stuff. I have also heard that they PRY the gel nails off, not soak them. I highly reccommend staying FAR AWAY from this place.

I was in on Friday evening for a manicure and pedicure for a wedding I was attending on Saturday. I will admit the pedicure was beautiful and I honestly expected nothing less with my French manicure. They "warned" me that it may not last, but I've had this type of manicure in the past and have done it myself as well and wasn't really worried about it--especially with the price I was paying to have it done. Besides, who offers a service they can't guarantee?? I quickly found out Spice Nails offers services they can't guarantee. I had to keep telling the older gentlemen that he was applying the white polish sloppily and there were lumps of clear polish on my nails. One of my nails he had to redo because marks were showing through. I looked over at my sister's nails and they were gorgeous. She had a different nail technician. I could not believe the difference. In the end, it looked amateur at best, but was passable for the wedding as no one would be that close to my nails. Well, that wasn't even the worst of the problems with my nails. I had the manicure done at 8 at night, went home, went to bed, got up the next morning and was on my way to the wedding for 3:00. By 2 in the afternoon, the paint was peeling right off my nails in a perfect sheet. I was shocked. None of my nails except one lasted until 5. Not even a full day! I went in to complain on Sunday and compared my sister's still beautiful nails with my nails and was given the following excuses, "We warned you." and " Your nails aren't as long as hers" (yes they were, by the way, and actually they were longer but they cut them down to just a smidgen shorter than hers.) They said they would do it again and I said, "Why? This will happen again." My sister asked if they do refunds and they said no. They were extremely rude, offered no apology and no other option to make me happy. No discount on the next visit, no gift card, no free nail polish, NOTHING. Just, "Nope, no refund." When I asked why they charge so much for a service they can't guarantee, they said it's because "It takes more time to do a French Manicure." Oooook then, so they can charge you for the extra time it takes them to DO a crappy job on your nails, but can't guarantee that it will last even an hour after you leave? What? Spice Nails, take French Manicures OFF your list of services if you can't stand by your work and aren't willing to make it right. I am extremely disappointed as I am from Ontario and have frequented this nail salon many times while vacationing in Halifax and have not been dissatisfied until this weekend. It only takes ONE time to ruin a customer's experience and if the management staff has no desire to even APOLOGIZE let alone make it right for the customer, they guarantee that customer will never return. I am going to make sure I leave this rant about this place in as many places as I can until I feel I've gotten my money's worth. :)
