ARTIKA HairSpa
Reviews
Always a great experience. Frances always helps me pick great color when I do decide to make a change in style.
I have been going to this salon since I was 20 and I am about to be 30. I have always had great experiences. Christina is the BEST! When she left for maternity leave Lauren took over and was not disappointed. Yes, they might run late maybe once but not for 30min. I travel from Manhattan Beach just to get my hair done in Artika, around a 1.5hr drive. I would not drive if it was not worth it! The only way to prove this is the best place is to try it! :)
I guess I have mixed feelings about this place. Over all it's good. Nice atmosphere. I love the tea. But I have had to wait a bit even with an appointment. And sometimes it does feel like I've been I the back a bit too long while my stylist finishes up. Over all I wouldnt trust any other salon in the area for a dramatic change in style.
I normally do not write reviews as I find everyone has a different experience based on their own personal perceptions and mind set. I googled Artika because I lost the number and much to my surprise I read Cassandra’s post of her experience. It was more like a rant not a review. I have been going to this salon for several years. I have had only positive experiences. I have taken my daughter, my mother my wedding party to Artika and everyone has had only a delightful experience with all the folks in the salon. I get constant compliments on my color, style, cut. I love the sensory experience. Before finding this salon, I use to always get my hair done at upscale salons in Newport Beach and this salon far outshines any previous salons I have been to. In fact the person that you slander has been the only person who has ever cut my hair there, she did my hair for my March wedding. I received a number of positive comments from her work product. She is patient, kind, funny and has excellent talent and skill. In fact my father, who was barber years ago, looked at my hair and said what an excellent cut I received and he is the most critical of folks who cut hair. Perhaps the difference between my positive experiences and Cassandra’s experience has to do with expectations. Mine are very high as I have had long thick hair for 46 years. I am personally offended by Cassandra's comments, as I think it is inappropriate to write reviews and include the stylist name as if it was some personal vendetta. As Cassandra stated she recently moved from Santa Barbara, a nice upscale beach town to Whittier, if I had made such a drastic move as that, I do not think anything or anyone could make me happy. Honesty you state "I really wanted to like this salon" but it appears to me that even a top Beverly Hills stylist would not make you happy. Your expectations appear to me as unrealistic bordering with perhaps an over inflated opinion of yourself and how your hair should look. Or perhaps you are just unhappy that you have thin hair and are unable to do anything with it. Whittier does have a wig store, you might try that. The staff at this salon are friendly welcoming, kind and easy going. They are not stuck-up or rude. I have NEVER had an issue with one person, in fact my mother who also has fine hair loves the way her hair was styled and cut. Perhaps the picture you showed was one in your younger days and of a happier time in your life. Why do I say this because your review was nonsense, it reads as if nothing would satisfy you except to go back to your salon in Santa Barbara. There are trains you can take there if you do not wish to drive, I suggest you do. As these folks do not deserve the disrespect that you have written here. If you are mad, be mad but stylists are not miracle workers, they work with what you have on your head. Did you get your money back? Did you get 2 free haircuts? You can try other salons in the neighborhood but you were at the best one. As I suggested the trip back to Santa Barbara is not too far. And I am sure your hair doesn’t grow that fast. Please be respectful in your future reviews as some of your comments are bordering defamation and one day you might find yourself in court defending some of your untruthful comments.
