Marinello Schools of Beauty
Reviews
After reading so many positive reviews on Yelp, I went to Marinello for a cut this afternoon. What I wanted was fairly simple (a disconnected undercut). I have super short hair, so really the slightest mistaken is easily seen by all, and I've undergone my fair share of horrible hair trauma that still haunts me to this day. Yeah, I know- no pressure. I decided to get this cut after some late night google searching, so I came prepared with some pics of what I wanted. The student who styled me was Yahaira, she was super sweet and very careful, which was great because after a string of bad experiences I'd grown distrustful of stylists. I honestly never write reviews, but I think that good service is worth mentioning - especially in an industry where you're kind of at the mercy of whoever holds the scissors. As I said, Yahaira was very careful to make sure we were on the same page the whole time. She wasn't afraid to ask for assistance when needed (which I totally appreciate, as I've seen hairdressers hack their way through a whole head of hair in an attempt to fake a cut, rather than just admit they didn't know what the hell you really wanted to begin with), and the instructors seemed helpful as well. The atmosphere was nice too- you can tell the students are having fun. When someone passes their State Board test it's announced on the loudspeaker, which I also thought was very cool. Obviously you can't beat the prices either, my only regret is not having more cash for a bigger tip.
