The hair salon is what I'm gonna review on: my apt was 3:30, the hair stylist said I was booked for 3pm. Way to go...that's a red flag there when you're telling your client I was supposed to be there at 3. So basically what I was hoping for was an enjoyable salon experience turned into a traumatizing nightmare. When I first got there, my stylist did a look over on my hair and asked me what I would like to have done. I told her I wanted all over color, side swept bangs and a nice haircut. She started doing my hair color, and from the way she was applying it to my head seemed okay until she had another client booked for a 4:30 apt. So when she realized we were t halfway done applying the color, she then started to rush through it. So after she was done with that, I sat under a dryer for h'mm.. I don't know maybe 20 mins or so. Then I had another person rinsed out my hair and applied a deep conditioning treatment, I'd say that was the only enjoyable experience I had received because the guy was really gentle while massaging my head. Now comes the traumatic experience I've never wanted to encounter: I know I have a lot of hair to work with but really hated the fact that she was literally pulling my hair so much that I couldn't even bare it anymore, I sat in the chair trying not to get emotional because the pain I was in but OMG!!! Why on earth would you even ask me if I'm tender headed and expect me to speak up??? I honestly wanted to walk out during the last phase of getting my hair done because my head was pounding so much from her ripping my hair out :( I almost cried when I had my head down while she was cuttingg off my split ends. Finally after being in the salon for nearly 3 1/2 hours, I was ready to leave. So I got my bill and it was more than I expected, I told the lady at checkout that I came in here for their $60 promotion they had going on where you get hair color, cut and styled but my bill was $78!!! I was pissed that they charged me an extra $20 for additional color. Needless to say and long story short, I shouldn't have had to pay at all for the trauma I had to endure because I was not satisfied with how my hair looked afterwards or what I had envisioned on the turnout of the final results. I love the store Ulta but will not ever get my hair done at their salon anymore. If I have to pay a little more next time I need my hair done, I'm going back to Salon Nouveau on Kingsley in Orange Park. The girl that did my hair last time was way more experienced and did not ripped my hair out of my scalp. I ended up with an awful headache before the night was even over. But my boyfriend did like my new look, when I got to his mom's apt I was I tears from the bad experience I had just went through. Do NOT get your hair done at this salon!!! And just because I have a lot of hair doesn't mean you can not comb it properly. I am going back to the salon where my boyfriend's mom goes to.
I would normally have no reason for shopping here, but I had the opportunity to purchase a gift for my wife. The lady that assisted me was most helpful and accommodating. I honestly couldn't have done it without her expertise.
