Innovative Styles Salon
Reviews
I had won a raffle prize for a free cut and color at this salon last winter. My hair was in dire need of both, so I quickly made an appointment. The stylist was thrilled to see that I had brought in a picture of an "emo" hairstyle, and expressed that she thought these cuts were fun to do. I was very happy to hear that. However, sadly and very unfortunately, the result was horrible. The cut was lop-sided and did not fall nicely at all, but rather, it looked chopped up and messy. I should note that WHILE she cut my hair she explained that she actually taught herself how to do "emo" style hair...(NOT a good thing to tell a first-time client!!) ...and then there was the color. At that point in my life I was very much a blonde - though by nature I am a brunette. I was adament about the fact that my hair needed to be PRIMARILY blonde when all was said and done, but the final result was anything but. I literally couldn't see any blonde! (Well, there was that one little streak in my bangs...) Granted, my roots were dark when I walked in, but this is not the first time I'd asked a professional to work blonde over that, so I was shocked. She didn't seem to mind, though, and didn't even consult me to see if it was OK before she proceeded to start cutting. ...The kicker? The raffle prize said "FREE" cut and color...but I ended up paying more than $30!! How'd that happen? Overall, the people working at this salon were plesant, and the salon itself was pretty nice (very small, but nice) - but I wouldn't reccomend going here if you want something other than a basic hairstyle. Good luck out there! It's not easy finding a good hair salon...
