Mr. Kim's is most likely the best Barber Shop I have ever visited. He is very attentive to details. I use to visit the barber in the middle of Fairborn, when the owner retired the overall "friendliness" of the shop went south. Not the same old place it use to be. Mr. Kim's is open, friendly, and he takes the time to insure you have the cut you asked for .
new to the area and needed a haircut. decided to go here based on the reviews below. The one which is most accurate is the one by Gao. Some points: He will ask you how you want it, but will not ask for any details and will not wait to listen for extra details you give. he only used clippers, which generally I am alright with, but I could basically do the same thing myself. Major points: He will not stop and ask your approval at the end, as is customary at most barbershops where they take a mirror out and show you the front and back and ask if you like it. He instead will just walk up to the register. I had to walk over to a mirror to see how it looked, only to decide I wanted some changes. When I told him I would like more taken off the top, he seemed disappointed as opposed to wanting to make the customer happy. Only after this did he pull out a mirror to show me how it looked (still from front only, nothing of the back till I got home) Overall the cut was not bad, nothing I had to go fix at home. However, it was not exactly what I wanted from the beginning (probably because I was not able to explain what I wanted). One more note: It was only one man working. He had a headpiece in either listening to music or something. He never conversed with me. He seemed to just want to run through customers as quick as possible without caring whether they were satisfied or not. If you're a stickler for traditional barber shops with conversation between the barber and yourself and a haircut that is what you wanted, I would avoid this place.
Mr. Kim and wife are perfectionists at cutting men's hair. He takes only cash, and a cut is only $10. I used to goto Mr. Kim while in school at Wright State; I now work and live 20 minutes away and still visit for my monthly trim. Shop is clean and complete with foosball and television. Give him a shot, you won't be disappointed!
He sucks! He would not ask you in detail how do you want your hair to be cut. He can not understand or would not like to listen to you when you want to explain to him. He just uses the stupid trimmer to cut your hair like mowing the lawn. I have to shave my hair off after his unrepairable destruction. Do not even try!!!
The best barber!!!!!!!!! A-mazing customer service, great prices, PERFECT HAIRCUTS and a good time.
