I am a Texas native originally. I grew up in Pearland, but as soon as I graduated I started working abroad. I haven't lived anywhere consistently in 7 years, so I have gotten my nails done all over the US and the world. When I visit my family in Pearland I usually stop at Nails II, and they do a decent job, but this particular day I didn't feel like driving to Nails II so I stopped in at Star Nails on my way home from the Mall. From now on, when I am in town I will forever go to Star Nails. This place does not look like much on the outside, nor on the inside. I would have never gone out of my way to go here based on appearance, BUT YOU CAN NOT JUDGE A BOOK BY IT'S COVER! Star Nails is by far the best nail care I have ever received. I would go to Star Nails over any of the swanky nail salons I have been too in Southern California or New York. There was only one tech available when I stopped in, Leanne, and she was busy with another customer so I had to wait a good 20 mins for her to finish up, but she was worth the wait. She took her time and gave me the best manicure/ pedicure I have ever received. She did not skimp on details like cuticles and callus removal, and she took her time to shape my nails nicely. I have really long cuticles that get unruly and many techs will simply push them back and lightly trim them. With in a week my nails look awful. Leanne, made sure to completely trim them, and two weeks out I look like I got my nails done yesterday. She also took her time painting my toes and nails. Rather then slap on coat after coat of polish for me to smudge an hour after the appointment she took great care to evenly apply each coat, only warranting two coats of nail polish, as apposed to 3 or 4 that take HOURS to harden, and leave nails heavy with polish, making them weak, and more susceptible to breakage. What Star Nails lacks in ambiance they make up for in precision nails. If you wants a spa experience go somewhere else, but if you want a quality nail job, hit up Star Nails.
