I had my hair cut yesterday by a student (Sydnee) who did a great job. The instructor monitors her every step of the way so I felt comfortable with the entire experience. She did a neck message, washed and conditioned my hair with Aveda products and gave me a first class cut and blow dry all for $12.00! I scheduled my next appointment with her before I left. No need to pay $40+ when I can have a great experience here.

I have always had a good experience at Aveda. What I like most about it, is they do exactly what I ask for and are on the more conservative side. If I ask for a trim- they take 1/8 of an inch off, as opposed to some salons who overdo it. The highlights I get are always the right color. You can tell that the students are focusing on you and only you- they aren't distracted or trying to do something trendy that you may or may not like. It does take a little longer than other salons, but it's definitely worth it!

Wants a simple hair cut that takes fifteen minutes at any other place. Gets a bad hair cut under no instructor supervision and it takes over an hour. Yeah it sucked. Just saying.

If you're like me, you hate shelling out $70 each time you get your hair cut. Aveda is a wallet-friendly option because their stylists are still in the learning phase. I've always had great service here... very customer friendly and they go above and beyond to make you feel pampered. I wouldn't worry too much about these stylists being new... they have instructors guiding them every step of the way!

You get what you pay for-- I'm a grad student, so it's definitely in my price range. The students are generally friendly and try hard to get you the results you request (you should be VERY specific about what you want). The biggest problem I run into is the time. I expect it to take longer because they're learning, but if you want haircolor in less than 4 hours you should go to the Paul Mitchell school.
