Sulis, House of Lush

The first experience I had was great, the girl was very engaging and made me feel comfortable, then the second was utterly underwhelming. I waited half an hour and when I went in the hair dresser seemed very occupied. She offered me a tea, and I requested one but never received it. I felt like I was inconveniencing her most of time and I felt uncomfortable. Half way through she walked out to see a friend on the street and have a chat. I only had a trim but somehow it was $110. Im guessing because she was the owner of the salon? I dont think an employee could act like this. I wasn't made aware of the extra cost or that she was head stylist/owner/whatever and just asked for a trim when I booked in. Anyhow she was extremely unprofessional and I definitely wont be going back.
I was recently on holiday in Byron Bay and was in need of a hair cut and color. I was referred to Sulis, which was right down the street from my hotel. I am always hesitant to try a new salon, as I am very particular about my hair color, but after having been traveling for a few weeks I was desperate! As soon as I walked into the salon I was greeted warmly and escorted to the lounge where I was offered tea and champagne (I was on holiday, I chose the champagne). I was then introduced to my stylist, Danielle, who immediately put me at ease and worked with me to find the perfect color and style I was looking for. I was then pampered with a complimentary head and shoulder massage and foot spa while I waited for my color to set. I was so pleased with my end result as well as the overall experience, I ended up booking a manicure/pedicure appointment for the very next day. I highly recommend Sulis, they truly made my few days in Byron Bay.
