Another great experience at Rapunzels. Had a facial today and was one of the best yet!

Do NOT go here with a large group/wedding party. I got married in Banff this summer and had a very large wedding party (7 bridesmaids, 1 junior bridesmaid and a flower girl). We all went to Rapunzel's for hair and a few people got their makeup done as well. Luckily my hair was done well. My makeup was only so-so - I probably could've done it just as well myself. 2 of the bridesmaids and my mother all ended up going back to the hotel to wash their hair and start over. They tried to explain to their hair stylist what they wanted but the stylist kept doing a really terrible job. We were booked so tight, with another wedding party coming in after us, that they were told that they had to be out of the chair by a certain time, even if their hair was not done. On top of this they were charged for the service! My mother (the mother of the bride) didn't get to see me put on my wedding dress because she was frantically redoing her own hair - after paying someone to do nothing, no less. One of my wedding guests is a hair stylist so she ended up redoing the hair of 2 bridesmaids and missing the ceremony as a result. It was a terrible experience and our whole group agreed that it was poorly handled. If they did not have the ability to service such a large group they should have said so and we could've sent half of the group to another salon. Secondly, they should not book wedding partied one on top of the other so that you end up kicked out so they can make more money. Going to Rapunzel's was truly a terrible way to start my wedding day. I will never go back and do not recommend it to anyone. I expected a lot better service and results considering they are an Aveda salon and considering they are in a location where there are LOTS of wedding so should have plenty of experience dealing with large groups and formal hairdo's. Lastly, even though they were well aware that we were unhappy with the results and service, no one has followed up with me to address the issue even though we spent over a thousand dollars there and the wedding was 2 1/2 months ago.

I had the pleasure of going to Rapunzel's lovely Aveda spa after the Rocky Mountain Soap's 12K women's run, and it was exactly what the doctor ordered. An amazing massage therapist named James gave me an incredible one hour massage, followed by 30 minutes of reflexology on my weary feet. The ambiance was calming and very classy. I will not miss the opportunity to go back when I am back in Canmore for my next visit.

Thank You Rapunzel's!! You absolutly rock! The whole wedding party looked amazing and Sara, special thanks to you, I felt like a princess on my wedding day!
