I called the owner Barb about the Groupon deal. It was $45 for partial highlights and a cut. When I asked her if she had any appointments she did. It was right before Christmas and I was thrilled!! (that should have been my first clue) Barb advised me not to purchase the Groupon. I could pay her the $45. When I sat in her chair she pulled out a streaking cap. Right there I should have run for the hills! I was desperate so I sat through it. The whole time she talked about all of her black lovers. I honestly thought I was on Candid Camera. It was a bizarre experience!! I had to ask her to trim my hair after. She did a few weird snips in the back and said I was good!!! I was afraid to challenge a woman with scissors and my hair so I thought I would cut my losses and get the hell out of there. Here is the kicker. She said 'that will be $75.00' I reminded her of the Groupon. She said that is for short hair. I have purchased hair Groupons before at and it never mattered if I had shoulder length hair. I gave her $80 and waited for my change. It took her an uncomfortable 5 min. to find some loonies to give me. As far as Anita goes over in the waxing area ~ SHE IS THE BOMB! I love my visits with her. She gives you a Brazilian wax and makes you laugh the entire time! Everything is honey this and sweetheart that. She is sincere and has a heart of gold. You can't help but give her a big hug and feel like her good friend. I have been seeing her for waxing for a couple of years and have never had a problem. I would highly recommend her services. 5 Stars for Anita *****

Barb has 30 years experience in hair styling and specializes in hair cuts and color she always stays up to speed with the new trends in hair cuts and colors. and will let you know when your hair idea is Just not going to work for yah she always puts her clients needs ahead of her's There is also Pam who has over 17 years experience in hair styling and specializes in hair extensions. she was one of the very first stylists in Winnipeg to offer hair extensions, Pam is also a very crafty person who has many unique ideas with the art of crocheting and sewing and the new kid on the block which is me Jordan im a Registered massage therapist at this salon and have just introduced my business, Motio Massage Therapy and i love The power of massage Therapy, especially... Therapeutic treatment and Assessment and the art of relaxation. I forgot to mention iv also been going to this hair salon since i was 18 years old and look forward to working with these very special ladies. Check it out :)

I'm not the type of person who likes to write a negative review, but this is something you need to hear about. When I first entered the salon, it struck me as a place that's a little under kept: clean enough but dumpy. But really, that's what you might expect for getting a good deal on a wax. I hadn't been for a Brazilian wax in quite a while, so I was expecting it to take a long time, but I was pleasantly surprised when the pain was over quite quickly. The troubled began that night when my nether regions began to redden and swell and itch. The following night was far worse, and it felt like a terrible sunburn. I got maybe a grand total of three hours of sleep that night consistently being woken up because of the pain and having to swap ice packs to try to cool the area. Itchy and swollen doesn't begin to describe the level of pain I was experiencing. It felt like road rash and venomous snake bites, and I have a fairly high pain tolerance but I was up at all hours the night crying in pain. Before going to see my doctor, I wanted to get a list of ingredients in the product she used. So when I phoned her and asked what the ingredients in the product were, she suddenly got very mad at me, saying that I had posted a bad review about her salon on Facebook. Only that wasn't me, and I told her that. Then she got mad that I hadn't phoned her first, saying (and I quote) 'I am older that you and you should have some respect, I have been doing this for 25 years an nobody has any complaints.' Finally she agreed to call her supplier and get a list of ingredients. When she phoned me back her tune had suddenly change and it was 'honey' this and 'sweetie' that. But I already got the impression she didn't have any real empathy for me, just her business. I took the list of ingredients to my doctor who told me I was likely allergic to aloe Vera and obviously never to go back to the salon. When the redness began to subside thanks to the drugs I got from my doctor (I spent about $90 on itch creams and the like) I started getting a bunch of ingrown hairs that began to blister. Instead of the hair growing back soft like it has when I've gone to other salons, it grew back like cats claws as though it had been ripped at the head ripped rather than being pulled out by the root. All that pain for nothing! is it the salon manager's fault that I had an allergic reaction? No not at all, and I'm sure most people are not allergic to aloe Vera like I am.
