Webber & Co

I always go to Aveda salons because that name guarantees a soothing experience, attention to detail, and a great cut. Sadly, Webber & Co in Cambridge fail to live up to the exemplary standard of other Aveda salons. The head massage was okay (when is a massage ever less than okay?). Although the cut I received was technically adequate, my hairdresser was unenthusiastic about discussing my requirements, and was manifestly unable to express herself clearly when suggesting a cut. Nor was she able to answer even basic questions about styling. The salon owner was standing a metre away, but didn't bother to intervene and clarify any answers. Cut hair got all over my clothes, and no one bothered brushing it off. Similarly, although it is normal for Aveda salons to offer coffee, their proprietary herbal teas (and sometimes even champagne!) I had to ask for a drink. Even then they were not particularly forthcoming. I don't mind this sort of behaviour at bargain salons, but if I'm paying 36-45 pounds, then I expect a lot more than such amateurism . Two stars.
Webber and Co is the first hairdressers I've tried after moving here. The staff made me feel very welcomed and my hairdresser took time to listen to what I wanted. She took an hour over my cut which is very rare, but apparently this time is taken over all cuts. I feel comfortable saying that it was the best haircut I've ever had, and I look forward to returning.
