While receiving my haircut, I realized that my hair was being cut much shorter than the one inch I asked for. Upon measurement later, my hair was roughly half an inch long. I returned in the evening after receiving many comments on how short my hair was. I told her my hair was not one inch, to which she responded by first saying that it was, and that when I said one inch to them, it didn’t necessarily mean exactly one inch, as the blade guard provided an approximate. She told me that the one inch blade did not guarantee a prefect one inch cut, which I was aware of; However, I had been to Hairport previously and ordered one inch all over each time, and had never received a cut this short in the past. Additionally, I had been to multiple barbershops (as well as receiving cuts from family members) in the area and asked for the same cut with positive results each time. She then proceeded to tell me in the middle of the conversation that my barber was new, and stated that if they had gone any higher, my hair would not have been any shorter. This is not true. My hair was well over an inch, longer than some of my past visits in which I had received the same cut with positive results. Her explanations were confusing and numerous, and I left struggling to understand them. I have never had a problem with this barbershop in the past, and don’t blame the woman that gave it to me, but I find it absurd to accept the prospect of paying full price for a haircut I didn’t want simply due to what was labeled a misunderstanding.
