I got tips done here once for a special occasion circa early 2013. I am a nail technician and I understand proper procedures and basic customer service within this industry. I did not tell my tech that I was a professional and I decided to play dumb. I attempted to engage my tech in conversation; she barely spoke English and seemed very annoyed by my attempt at light conversation. I gave up and sat in silence. I explained to her that I'd never had tips done (a lie) and that I didn't know the procedure or protocol (another lie) and that I barely ever have manicures done (true). She did not give me any verbal directions and then would get snippy with me if I didn't do what she expected me to do. As a tech, I knew EXACTLY what I needed to do but I expressed to her that I was unfamiliar with procedure, so she should've verbally directed me. She ended up actually SNAPPING at me because I asked her repeatedly if she wanted me to put my hand in the UV lamp. Three times she refused to answer me and finally hissed "YESSSS" at me (as if I should've known by osmosis). She also left me curing in the UV lamp to start another client's pedicure. My lamp went off and I waited. Nothing. I eventually got up and a different lady yelled at me to wait for my nails to be wiped clean. My lady GOT UP from touching another client's feet to wipe my nails. Gross. I high tailed it out of there and will never be back.
Worst place ever, no matter what I asked for they made an excuse as to why they couldn't do it. Trying somewhere else next time for sure!
I have been going to Royalty nails for some time now and I like it. It is close to where I live and Lillian is wonderful. My recent experience was not so good, that is why I am rating it a 3 right now. Any other day I would have given them a 4 or better. Yesterday I went in to have my upper lip, eye brows, and arm pits waxed. It was an older lady who did it for me this time, not Lillian. She was kind and and took her time, but I noticed that she did one thing that Lillian does not do. She wax over the same area about 3 times. I noticed that once she was finished that it was still stinging a little. Well, once I made it home and looked in the mirror with my glasses on, I noticed a few areas were extra red. The next morning when I woke up, my eye brow and upper lip area was scabbed. So I went back to the shop to speak with the manager. He was not there, so one of the main ladies along with the lady who did my waxing came up to ask me what was wrong. Well I showed them the scabbed areas, and they started speaking to each other in their native tongues. The lady who did my waxing then went and got some neosporin and placed it on my scabs. She then said your skin is just sensitive and sent me on my way. Which I thought was horrible customer service, but since the manager was not there I thought it was best to wait. I later came back to ask for the manager again. He still not there so I left a message for him describing everything. I also placed on the note my name and number for a call back. I called before 7pm, but there was no answer. So tomorrow I am going to try to speak with the manager again. If he is a good manager he will call before I will call again or come back again. If this situation is not handled appropriately, I will call the BBB and also respond to my own post of the outcome. I can handle a few mistakes here and there, but at the end of the day I take customer service and respect very serious.
I was hesitant to come here based off prior reviews, but I actually had a good experience. the lady that did my pedicure did amazing and was very nice. I waited only about 10 min in the water before getting seen.
The guy who did my pedicure actually took his time on my toes & they look great. While my feet were being soaked he hands me a itemized list of the pricing for me to choose which package I wanted. I told him I just wanted the Sugar Scrub, Pedicure, & French (which was not listed as a package deal). He asked if I wanted the callus removal I told him I didn't want my feet scraped with the scraper just with the hard sponge & cream they use. The lady next to him told him in vietnamese to charge me $7.00 for that (not knowing that I'm vietnamese and can understand everything that they were saying). I waited to see if they were going to tell me that they were going to charge me extra but never said a word, they just charged me at the register & never said a word about it. My other complaint is, I didn't see that they sterilized any of their tools, sponges unless they did it prior to every customer. My goal is to find a great, clean, honest salon. I will be reviewing each salon until one meets my expectations. Only compliment is that they do take the time on each customer & they don't rush.
