I went into Macarthur Nails yesterday for a fill, Admittedly I had not gone in to have a fill for a while(four weeks). This is not my regular place but close to my house and I decided to give it a try. I watched the lady who was to do my nails wash the pedicure tub VERY POORLY and using nasty towels and sponges to clean with. I had to ask her to PLEASE clean the station she directed me to. she said she wanted to give me a new set, I told her That would be too painful,she said she would try one and would stop if it hurt, well it did HURT and I had to tell her to stop and just do the fill i had asked for PLEASE! She then got out the electric file and did not change the file tip, and proceeded to file down my nails very roughly. I said Mam, that HURTS! she then got out a dog clip, YES dog clipper and clipped down my nails so short that when she finally did file with a regular file, she was filling my fingertips. (you think she was mad at me?) while she was torturing me, a man who i later found to be a regular,and knows all of them, was leaving and said a hearty hello to her. she gave a DIRTY look at him. He did not see that, and he's laughing and talking as he is leaving, and SHE say to him nastily, "DID YOU PAY?" That was It, I had to ASK HIM did he hear what she just said!?! NOW I know the man paid bit that is the way those folks will treat us if you do not check em, so I did . nicely but I did. I told her that was not nice and HE said " you know what? you're right that was not nice" he was not happy but do you think she apologized? even raised her head? NO. I had a little smudge of polish on one of my fingers, she asked me about it because it differed from the color that was on my nails, I raised my foot to show her I did my toes. She looked at me and said, You can do your own toes?!? I answered, You can do your own toes?!? the rest of the drama ended with her having to smooth my nails twice because the job was very tacky!! SO! my warning is this consumers, and I have a legal right to my opinion, Do no go into this place if you are self respecting . I should have walked out long ago. They need to learn that we are PAYING for this service to be excellent, not treat us like we need to take what we can get. we need BLACK SALONS again and I know we can do it better than they can. with respect.
