This school is TERRIBLE!!! One thing on there mind...... MONEY MONEY MONEY!!! I am a former student of this god awful place talk about hell on earth. Hence Former.. I enrolled in 2012 and I kinda rushed the process so I didn't really get to do my research but i thought hey its Paul Mitchell it must be good... BOY WAS I WRONG! first off every staff tells you a different way of doing the same exact thing. i remember this one "learning leader" aiding me in a haircut we talk for about 5 minutes then she leaves then another "learning leader" who was just walking around the floor aka "floating" come by and tells me a whole different method of the same type of cut. About 20 minutes pass as I'm working on my client and two more both say different methods. So I eventually just do my own method. My method worked best. I recently decided to drop out and transfer for two reasons, both related to another. 1) i was over in my overtime hours. "Ask How The Process Is Done And How you Pay Them Off." "MAKES NO SENCE." 2) I HATED BEING THERE! 20,000 dollars for 1/2 the education I'd get at another school WTF. Reason being there is a Willam and Sanoma spa. Which mean the school is not allowed to educate the students on facials, nails ect. Still if thats the reason the location has several other building where they could have built the school. Oh need I mention its right next to a freeway exit. One more thing, Shouldn't a cosmetology school provide supplies? answer YES, but this one does not. Damn shame how there always running low or don't have any at all.. For people interested in this field for a career WARNING THIS SCHOOL IS A SCAM!!

I've only had excellant experiances at PM. Student #2313 is professional, takes her time to make sure she is getting it right and is concerned that she is doing what you want. The teachers are pleasant and take their time with the student to make sure you're getting the style you want. Remember, this is a school, and the time it takes to get your hair done will vary and at times take long, but for the price and quality of service you get, it's worth it.

I used to be a weekly client for a shampoo and blow out but stopped going for a variety of reasons. Emails of, "We miss you!!!!" started arriving. Yesterday (January 29, 2014) I had an appointment at 11AM for a shampoo and blow out. I arrived at 10:55am and filled out the appropriate paperwork. I was told to "have a seat" on the couch and that someone would be with me "shortly." This appointment to do my hair was in preparartion for a 1:30PM business luncheon in a restaurant very near by. At 11:10AM I began doing the crossword puzzle in the back of a PEOPLE magazine. At 11:20AM I finished this third grade challenge and looked to the desk to see if anyone remembered that I was sitting there. It appeared not. At 11:25AM with a knot in my gut I decided to leave. At 11:26AM a very nice student with auburn hair and a beautiful smile came to me and said that she was ready to do my hair. Too late. I have electric rollers..........The MAIN PURPOSE of this review is to laud the elegant African American gentleman from New Jersey who answered the telephone when I called shortly after leaving to complain to the manager about my latest experience at this place. He validated my complaint and we both agreed that, "11AM means 'before 11:10AM' " and apologized for my less than stellar experience. He assured me that my next visit would make up for this one and to please not be discouraged again from returning. This man is a MAJOR ASSET to your company!!! He should conduct a customer service workshop!!! Will I chance another disappointing visit?? Maybe but I have electric rollers so......maybe not!!!! Either way, I am very grateful to this gentleman who knew what to say, how to say it and had a smile in his voice. Ideally, The Paul Mitchell School in Sherman Oaks treats him better than they treat random clients!!!! Thank you!!!!
