I was given a gift certificate for a relaxation massage and a salt scrub a few months back and finally got a chance to use it this past week. I made my appointment a week in advance and was told to arrive an hour prior to my appointment to check out the spa amenities. I showed up about 45 minutes prior due to traffic and parking. There's a structure and they validate for the first 90 minutes but I was able to find street parking for free. Be careful in this neighborhood as majority of the street parking requires a permit. The lady who checked me in was nice but seems like she was rushing and expected me to already be familiar with the facility. My 25 minute salt scrub was okay. The therapist who worked on me didn't seem to have much experience, he kept stopping and leaving the room. My skin did feel really nice and soft for a few days. The 50 minute relaxation massage was nice but still isn't the best I've had. It was difficult to relax due to the noise that was coming from the outside. Not sure if the room I was in was near the staff break room area or what but it was hard to enjoy my massage. The music was a nice touch though. My service was $185 before tip. With this hefty price tag I expected more. I'm in no hurry to be back.
Over all the experience is what you'd expect at an LA spa facility. I had an 80 minute massage and while the masseuse was very nice, I got very ill towards the latter part of my massage and had to compose myself for over half an hour to feel safe to make the drive home to Harper and Santa Monica Blvd. The massage bed was kept at a very hot temperature and the massage was very harsh on my body. My blood pressure dropped very very low. I came home having the chills. Again, the masseuse was lovely. I'd recommend to do without heating up the bed and then placing hot towels on the body. Warm towels are sufficient. The staff is lovely. It is on the pricey side, but, hey, it's LA, right?
Luxurious spa experience in the Hollywood Hills! I liked the shower/locker room and my esthetician was pleasant and knowledgeable. I felt relaxed and pampered during this experience.
It's a little traditional for my taste, and the services are OK, but the amenities make up for it.
Had another one of my best massages here by a blind cambodian man. I heard he left so i haven't been back. I prefer the Santa Monica location but this place is pretty good too. They need better parking options here.
