Last week for the first time I went to a salon, Honeecomb Natural Hair, that specializes in natural hair. I explained to my hair texture to the sylist and he suggested blow drying my hair before two strand twisting it. That seemed like a bad decision to me BUT I am not a hair stylist so I TRUSTED his recommendation. Oh my goodness! I looked a hot mess but with his reassurance believed that if I left them in my hair would take the definition of the twists. Ummmm no sir! I walked around looking like Coolio or at best W.C. for a few days and took a couple of the twists out. ZERO definition!!!! Since I was $100 lighter I reached out to owner of the salon Shana by email. I explained to her my concerns. She offered to take them out for free and suggested I call for an appointment. When I called to schedule an appointment I was told she was not available for 5 days. I explained I would not be able to walk around looking like this for 5 more days and would reach out to Shana to see if there were other options. I sent an email that explained my concerns, resent the pictures of my hair, sent a picture of the two strand twist I did (an example of my texture prior to being blown dry), and received no reply. I emailed again six days later requesting at least a partial refund since I had to get my hair redone within days of spending my time and money at her salon. Her reply was a simple we do not do refunds. In my opinion my experience with this salon has been the antithesis of stellar and as natural hair specialist the advice was at best sub-par. I understand that salons have to protect themselves but I reached out fairly early with my concerns and was basically ignored. Just because you deliver a service does not mean that the service was done right or well.

Had a good experience here - I was seen on time, my hair was done to my specifications and it was not too tight! The prices also were exactly what they quoted me over the phone - no last-minute long hair price hike. Will go again.
