The Gallery Salon Day Spa

Shannon is the absolute BEST!! The Gallery is lucky to have her. She listens to what it is you are wanting and actually cares about taking care of your hair. I use to dye my hair dark brown/ black myself at home (big NO-NO). I decided I wanted to lighten it some so I went to Shannon to get highlights after reading online that she was great with color. She advised me to not put highlights in at the time because of how damaged my hair was from the home dye. I am sooo thankful for her advice! She saved me from what would of caused the ends of my hair to melt off because it was so damaged! I am so glad I listened to her advice and went slowly with my color. She worked on my hair for about four hours that first appointment trying to lift off some of my "home dye" and I eventually did some blonde after my hair could handle the color. My hair is finally healthy and long again thanks to her "nursing" it back to health! That first appointment with her was a few years ago and I haven't gone to anyone else since :) She has since taken me from brown/ black to highlighted to nearly all blonde to ombre/ biolage (still don't know if I pronounce that right?!) and of course to styling my hair for my wedding :) I seriously can't say enough great things about her!
The Gallery cannot handle wedding parties. From the beginning to the very unfortunate end, they were unprofessional and not understanding of my needs as a bride. When I went to the salon to have my hair and makeup done for my bridal portraits, the staff was rude to us. They took a very long time to do both, and not until I requested to see someone about the wedding day services did they send someone over, and even then, it was when my eyes were closed during makeup. I had to cancel my services with them and make other plans for hair and makeup two weeks before the wedding. I moved away from Baton Rouge but chose to get married there, and I always heard good things about The Gallery, none of which were true. The only person who understood our needs on the wedding day was the makeup girl, and unfortunately, I did not like the heavy eye makeup she did when I requested a soft smoky eye. They vowed to call me that afternoon to iron out plans for the wedding day and did not call for a week, after I had already made other arrangements. They never made any attempts to retain the services of my bridesmaids and me. They were practically forcing us to come to the salon because it was more convenient for them rather than come to the hotel, as I requested. They would not begin the services later than 9:30 in the morning, even when they were having two people present for makeup and two for hair. Before that, they scheduled one bridesmaid at the salon for 8 a.m. without consulting me. The wedding was at 6 p.m. They are absolutely unprofessional and do not possess any customer service skills.
One of the best places I have ever been. I can't understand anyone not getting the best service in the world, because they go above and beyond.
I went to The Gallery for cut and color, and it was "okay," but not nearly the service I would expect for the price. I've found their facials and microdermabrasion to be more expensive than other spas in the area, and with less services included. Overall not my first choice, or second or third for that matter.
I am very picky on how my hair is cut for a male. I tried the Gallery Salon and asked for Michele because i heard good thing about her. Wow! She was great. A great hair cut and enjoyable experience. Any males that are looking fro a great hair cut - you need to check her out and give her a chance - you will be satisfied!!
