Moodz Day Spa & Salon
Reviews
As soon as you walk in the door of this Day spa you are greeted by a wonderful ambiance and energy! The establishment itself is beautiful and well kept. In addition, all of the service providers are kind and gentle spirited! Every service I have had, has been extremely thorough and well worth the penny! I brought my boyfriend in for a pedicure with me and the young lady who provided his service did such a great job with him. He made a few jokes about his manly feet and calluses and she was very patient and accommodating to his needs. It was both relaxing and fun.
They always do a great job on my hair and nails. I see Chrissy (might be spelling that wrong) for my hair, and she really knows how to put hair tinsel in well, so definitely go to her if you want any kind of hair flare.
Saw Stephanie in Acton for a full foil and we spoke at length about what I wanted with respect to color. I told her not to use bleach and that I didn't want yellow gold or brassy highlights. She used bleach and I got bright yellow gold highlights. It was supposed to look "natural' and instead looks spotty and as though it was done by a student. Unfortunately, this is one of those places where the "stylists" do it all - cut, color, perm. They don't have an expert color staff and I would avoid this place for color. I tried two other stylists before Stephanie and was disappointed with them as well. Definitely not worth the money and I won't be going back.
Adam at the Wayland location cut my hair two weeks ago; after a brief consultation when I told him that my hair was curly and asked him to please, please, not cut the top too short, he promptly ignored everything I said and left me with a too-short haircut that I am now praying will grow back quickly. This was all compounded by his lack of attention when he was done (he was running late); He pushed me out of his chair and I had no clue as to how to style the cut. I have spent the last two weeks playing with products to fight it into submission. GROW! GROW! Adan began our appointment by assuring me that he taught cutting for Bumble & Bumble, and I am sure that he is technically qualified, but perhaps he and his company might consider a session on paying attention to his customers who may actually know their hair better than "The Master" (having lived with it for awhile..) Let me also add that the eyebrow wax I received from Christina before the cut was equally poor- after explaining that I did not want the brows "too thin" (and listening to her horror stories about brow jobs done gone bad), Christina promptly waxed not just the bottom portion of my eyebrows, but also the TOP! Joan Crawford has nothing on me now... NEVER again- avoid this place like the plague- it may look expensive and therefore wonderful, but there are plenty of other stylists, at half the price, who will provide you with a haircut style and other services that will make you feel wonderful.
I think Moodz prices are very competitive and I am an avid spa goer. I happen to know the owner personally as I have been going to Moodz for many years, and she is a generous, warmhearted, kind person who genuinely cares very much for her clients and their well being. I highly recommend Ellen for massages and Stephanie for color--they are excellent!!
