I went in for a shellac manicure in late December because I had heard that I could get a French Manicure in Shellac for $30. I made an appointment, but when I got there, it looked like I could've just walked in and requested a technician. The nail tech I got could not speak English, which is important in order to know what your English speaking customer wants. It was difficult to tell her what I wanted on my nails. It took a long time to tell her how wide to make the white stripe on my nails, for instance. I had shellac polish on my nails from a previous manicure, and she used a DRILL to take it off. I have had about 5 shellac manicures, and no one has ever used a drill to take the polish off. It ended up really screwing up my nails. I just took her polish off, and my nails have white gashes and marks in them. I'm definitely not pleased about that. When I asked the tech how much I owed, she said $35. I'm not sure why it was $5 more than what the man on the phone quoted, but it could be because she had to take off the old polish. I've gone to other places that do not charge to remove the old shellac, however. I will definitely not be returning to DK nails!
