I normally enjoy my visit to Cosmoprof, but today was a definite exception. The two people in line in front of me had a $10 off coupon, and the salesman (Allie) refused to allow me the use of the same coupon, insisting that I actually had to bring it in myself. The poor customer in front of me was hassled because she didn't actually have her license on her person at the moment she was checking out. Crazy. Even with a CosmoProf card she was nearly refused service. I felt badly for her, and it alarmed me, because I never carry my license with me, either. Today, I was shopping for shears, and after having stopped at State Beauty Supply just before that I was ready to make my purchase at CosmoProf. However, the rep refused to allow me to actually touch the Centrix shears for sale, which is around a $200 purchase. Obviously I am not going to buy a pair of shears if I can't hold them in my hand beforehand. State Beauty did not hesitate in unwrapping a couple of their $350 pairs and encouraged me to handle them well before deciding. I think CosmoProf needs to educate their new hires and let them know that not only are customers ALLOWED to touch the shears, but they should be ENCOURAGED to do so, otherwise they will not BUY them (which is the entire goal of the retail store, right?). Ultimately, I decided on a cheaper pair of Fromm (since I couldn't handle the Centrix), but since the lady remained firm that she would not let me use the same coupon the other two ladies did I promptly walked out. I'm perfectly happy to spend more at an establishment that is customer-friendly. We have plenty of options in Springfield, MO for me to worry about getting hassled at this place. (written by Renae S.)
