I went for the first time today and was very pleased with my visit to Maria! She is great! Very sweet and also makes great recommendations. I have type 4 natural hair and was treating myself to a "Dominican Blow-Out" for my birthday. Everything was clean and everyone was friendly.

I came here (Erlina's in Wal-Mart Shopping Center @ New Bern Ave. and New Hope Rd.) on a Sunday. They were the only one's open.I am a b/f, with thick mid back length relaxed hair. I will NEVER come here again!My hair was half washed and left partially dirty. She said it was too "greasy" and then began to put baby powders on it!? When asked to at least rewash hair around the edges, stylist became angry and started roughly handling my hair and angrily started washing it and then rinsing it in hot water. I had to yell at her and tell her the water was too hot. What ever shampoo and so called conditioner was used, left my hair dry and stripped. Then came the good part...When combing out my hair, which was tangled and stripped by now, she very roughly combed thru it, just tearing my hair out! I was very upset by this time and yelled at her to please treat my hair more gently because she was tearing it out! (Big clumps of hair left in the comb). As she combed my hair, she plucked out at least 5 clumps of hair out of her comb and dropped them on the floor. My hair doesn't shed, so this was ripped out hair!After my hair was set and dried, it was very dull looking and had a weird sticky coating to it. I have never been so angry!This place does not know how to care for African American hair! Our hair is more delicate and needs to be handled as such! As I noticed, most of the customers had straight caucasian-like hair. Please do yourself a favor if you are black. You'll save money, time and hair-- never come here! I don't care what you have heard-- Dominicans do not know how to treat/ style out hair! This is the 3rd salon I have tried, and by far the WORST!!!

I went here for the first time & loved it. I had been going to another salon it seemed to take all day. Erlinas was fast & I loved the results. This will be my new salon. The service was fast also.

I've been going to Erlina's for almost a yr now and this place is fantastic. I always drove by there but never took notice till a colleague told me about it. When I started going there, my hair was thinning and my co-worker told me I needed to find a good Dominican Salon (pun intended) to grow my hair again. I then met Andrea and I won't have anyone else touch my hair except from Andrea! My hair has grown alot and is healthier too. I know everyone's hair type is different and what works for me may not work for another, but this is my heaven. As a bonus, my husband got a haircut from one of the barber's (forgot his name) and he loves how they take their time and are very precise. The barber is also soo good that he's the only one my husband goes to for a haircut and so does my toddler son! It's a family one stop hair shop. Thanks Erlina's.
