The receptionist was kind of rude when I called, and acted as though they were doing me a special favor by taking my appointment. (There are a million other salons to whom I could have given my business.) My stylist was very nice, but seemed more content to socialize with the other stylists than to listen to my preferences. She criticized my last hairstylist, who apparently "didn't know what they were doing" which I find very unprofessional, especially since it was a close friend who last did my hair. That friend has been doing hair for 4 years longer than this woman. Also, I asked for simple, classy, professional angles that will look good flat ironed, IE Recent Jennifer Aniston, and before I could go any further, she interrupted, and started socializing again. She cut and curled it like I came straight out of 1992. It was ok, but not what I asked for. And even then, she implied that she needed to "spice it up" with a little "snooki" bump. how in god's name could someone associate "Snooki style" with classy, professional and simple? So i asked her not to, but she still made it a little "jersey shore-ish". She kind of looked like she belonged on that show, now that I think of it. I feel bad writing this review, because she was incredibly friendly, but pretty unprofessional, and not very attentive to her job. When I pay for a service, I expect it to be done professionally, and with respect to what I ask for, not her own personal taste. I believe her name was Maria, if I remember correctly. I probably won't go back there. I'm looking for a place that caters to a classier crowd.
I live in New York City and ordered a gift certificate online for my Syracuse-based mom's birthday. Everyone was incredibly helpful and the ordering was super simple as they used PayPal to process the payment.
