Christi works magic with my hair and her prices are so very reasonable. She is very talented and I recommend her to anyone wanting a high dollar style without the high dollar price!
I've been an occasional client of Art Hair for 4+ years. It was close to my work, and Christi and others were great when I'd sit down and say, "I need a change. What do you think?" I also received a fantastic coloring job 6 months ago from one of Christi's stylists who rescued me from a botched home highlighting job. The coloring job was so good it just faded naturally over time, so I purposely went back yesterday with pictures. Yesterday, it was like a different salon. I walked in the door, and from my arrival it didn't seem like Christi was glad to have a repeat customer. She instructed me to sit in the 1st chair (which I had to brush hair off of) while she watched a few more minutes of her show. We reviewed the pictures. While she was coloring and highlighting my hair, she looked back and forth between the TV and my hair. After rinsing my hair, the way I knew to sit up was when she pulled my hair (through the towel) until it hurt. I thought it was just an accident, but it happened again later. I wasn't happy with the color (it was different than the pics we'd reviewed) and asked Christi what she could do. She seemed extremely annoyed, told me it looked good, told me what I was asking for wouldn't go with my complexion, and that she'd chosen the right shade based on my pictures. I told her I was very sorry, but that I just didn't like it. (This was my first time asking a stylist to correct a color, but I never anticipated she would argue with me.) The icing on cake came when she said while walking away (and in front of another client), "You can't expect it to be the same when you don't come back for a year!" and turned around. The lowlights she finally added did help a little (though she made no secret of her annoyance), but I didn't even realize until I got home how thick the highlights are. She also got hair dye on my shirt, which I didn't realize until I got home, either. Right now I can only wear my hear in a ponytail, and I'm corresponding with my stylist from another state to figure out how to fix this. To say I'm disappointed would be an understatement. I have never been treated rudely at a salon before, and I've never had a stylist argue with me. $110 spent for an hour+ of being ignored and argued with. Perhaps this was just a bad day for her; who knows? But I did think anyone considering going should know about my experience. One suggestion I have if you are going is to ask to have your hair colored first and then the highlights added, because fixing the color is far more difficult if the highlights are in place.
