Service here is non-existent every time I go and they never have what I need in stock. Tonight I decided to give them one last try. I walked in and surprise, surprise, once again they didn't have the item I needed in stock. I couldn't find anyone to help me, so I went to the cashier and asked if she was the only one working. She said it was just her and the manager. I told her I needed some help and she got on her microphone and asked the manager to come out and help me. I waited several minutes, but the manager never came. I walked out. I went down the street to Sephora, where they had my item in stock AND they greeted me when I walked in, which is something that never happens at Ulta. That was Ulta's last chance with me and once again they failed miserably!
Amazing service and great staff!! Make sure to go to seema for yout facials and shelly and natasha for hair!!!
DO NOT GET YOUR HAIR DONE AT THIS SALON. Absolutely terrible service! I had an appointment with a "master stylist" at 5:30 and not only was i never greeted while i waited at the salon desk for at least 5minutes but even when she did acknowledge me she sat me next to her friend and proceeded to color her hair before she even touched mine. she did not ask if i was on a time crunch or if i mind that she do her friend's hair first. she did not touch my hair until 6:00, 30min after my scheduled appointment and it wasn't until I told her that I had to leave at 7:30 that she gave me her full attention. she asked me to google hair color terminology because she did not know what certain symbols stood for....seriously? master stylist? then when it came to styling my hair she puts ZERO heat protectant product on my hair before she blow dries it without a brush (i have really curly hair) and proceeds to put a flat iron to my hair still without any type of product or heat protectant. when she is done she still does not even offer to put hairspray on my hair or some type of dehumidifying spray she just says she's done and to meet her upfront. Meanwhile telling her friend how sorry she is she has had to wait, and how she knows her kids are waiting for her at home, etc. As if it was my fault for scheduling an appointment? $130 down the drain.
I cannot believe how horrible my experience at ULTA was. I haven't come here for a few years, but when my sister was in need of a blush brush, we narrowed our search down to ULTA and Sephora. First of all, the customer service was absolutely horrible. No one greeted us when we walked in, asked if we needed anything, helped us find what we were looking for, etc. Basically we were left to fend for ourselves in this jungle of part-prestige and part-drugstore cosmetics (really, since when are Bare Escentuals and Maybelline sold in the same place?). We searched for the make up brushes for a while without finding a single sales associate to help us. Finally, we tracked one down (and literally ran after her), and she basically told us, in the rudest tone possible, that blush brushes were in various parts of the store. Uh, thanks, but could you tell me where? She then pointed to areas of the store and didn't even offer to show us exactly where they were located. So rude. We eventually found some, my sister made her pick, and we went to the checkout line to make our purchase. Only two sales associates were at the checkout line and we waited about 8 minutes to buy just one blush brush. The manager at the time was even in the area and saw us waiting for a long time but didn't offer to check us out or apologized for the wait. After waiting for such a long time, we showed a coupon we received for $3.50 off a $10 purchase, and attempted to use it but the sales associate said the brush we wanted to buy was excluded from the coupon. We read the exclusions carefully and it wasn't listed, but we literally wanted to get out of there and just bought the brush. I couldn't have been more disappointed by this excursion. And seriously, if you offer a coupon, you should let your customers use it. Ladies, I know it's pricier, but just opt for Sephora. They have such great customer service, are much nicer, are willing to let you try any products you want, and have a much better selection of brands. I was extremely disappointed by the brands that Ulta carried - where was NARS? What about Dior? YSL? I felt like they only had mediocre brands (Urban Decay, Stila, etc.) and the nicer, higher-end brands wouldn't dare make an appearance at such a place. And neither should you.
DO NOT go here for highlights/color. Shelly (salon manager, no less) was sweet as pie. However, it took her 3 HOURS to do my color alone. The cut was fine, but I needed to get my color and highlights updated and that was a disaster. I think she tried to only add color to the area that had grown out because now I have strands that are highlighted close to my scalp and then not 2 inches further down. This appointment took longer and cost more than my previous salon, and my hair looks horrible! Completely NOT worth the fact that I got the appointment with less than one days notice.
