The Cutting Room Salon & Spa
Reviews
The Salon has a beautiful interior and very comfy chairs at the hair wash station. My stylist is very friendly and does a great cut. BUT twice now I have had strange charges on my final bill. At my first appointment I was offered a hair mask, the price was never mentioned to me (but at previous salons it's either been complimentary, or $5-10). When I went to pay my bill it was $30 - the stylist really should have explained when she recommended it, after all it cost nearly as much as my cut. Even worse though was my second visit - I declined the hair mask this time and was still shocked to see a $20 'Treatment' on my final bill. I didn't ask for a treatment, I wasn't told I was getting a treatment, I didn't notice any treatment being done, and the receptionist whom I paid was very noticeably uncomfortable when I asked what this 'treatment' was. All I was told is that it's a necessary part of a colour job. Another stylist was called to explain and said it makes my hair shiny. Right. Strange that at my previous appointment (where I had the same colour treatment done) I wasn't charged for this 'necessary' mystery treatment. So they do a great job on your hair but beware if you feel ripped off by charges that can't be explained and aren't discussed before you reach the cash register. It seems common practice to pad their prices.
