I got a gift voucher to go to Mantra Spa. Thought it will be good idea to write a review, since there is no review about this spa. - Making appointment: I e-mail them to make an appointment, surprisingly enough, someone called me the next day to tell me their availability. (You hear all these horror stories about online coupon and how unpleasant their appointment booking experience are). I called them back, and the girl on the phone was able to provide me a few time slot to choose from, and I was able to get an appointment within a few days. --> So, very good experience -Reception: I arrived 10 minutes before my appointment, and filled out the customer profile form, which did not take long. At the same time, there were 2 ladies just walked in after me, and wanting to get an appointment on the same day. The lady who was helping me got distracted, and kinda left me wondering in the store for good 5 minutes after I finished filling out the form. - Entering the SPA zone: I started my spa with a 60 minute massage. The girl gave me the massage was very nice. (I do not remember if she introduced herself because I do not know her name) However, I think it would've been much nicer if she asked me my preference first before started her massage routine. The massage was fairly comfortable although there are some part of the massage that I feel she only glided pass my skin. If she asked my preference before the massage routine, I think my experience would be much much better. --> Good, but could've been every much better - Manicure and pedicure: They let you choose the color you want. The selection is from OPI and Sally Hansen. You can choose one color for your toe nail, and one for your finger nail. She was very careful, did a great job. The soaking tub for my feet is like what we would use at home. I was a little turn down by the soaking tub (more like a bucket) because the water gets a bit cold afterwards. I think the girl did a good job on painting my nails, but I think they can upgrade their facility to enhance the experience. Overall: Good experience, but definitely room to improve. The environment of the SPA is very simple, not a luxury spa that some of you expect. But if you just want a cheap massage, and you came across a coupon to go there on a special price, it's a good place to be.
Check the website and you will find this company is now called ABENZ DAY SPA, located at 710 a Columbia Street, New Westminster. Upon arrival for a Brazilian & lower leg wax, I asked if the esthetician was certified, and told "yes". My legs were done so poorly I was told to go home and shave, can you believe it? I was actually INJURED during the Brazilian, skin RIPPED OFF my private parts! I immediately saw my gynecologist and given prescriptions to help healing and deal with the pain. When dealing with the Manager NEELY, I found out the girl (Susanne) doing my Brazilian had NEVER done one before! she is NOT certified! Neely declined to pay for my medications, also. DO NOT TRUST THIS BUSINESS!
Best manicure & pedicure I have received. I'm lucky if I can get a manicure to stay intact for 2 days, this one lasted over a week. No cracking, chipping or peeling!! Excellent, friendly customer service! Highly recommend this professional establishment!
