Loft Salon The

Reviews

This is my first online review but I feel like I need to give people a heads up. I was also quoted a different price on the phone than what I was charged after my cut. The receptionist/owner? was very rude. The woman who cut my hair was very nice but didn't seem to be too impressed with the actual salon or the people running it. Although she was nice she was not really that great of a hair stylist and focused on my cowlick far too much. This seems to happen often with inexperienced stylists in my experience. She ended up cutting my bangs way too short and I had to recut them myself when I got home. Overall I felt ripped off and ended up with a mediocre to poor hair cut.

I had my hair done here during a recent trip to Whistler. It was an uncomfortable experience for me and I won't be back. I was charged 55.00 to have my hair curled. The stylist told me that she didn't think a small braid in the front would look good; I think she just didn't know how to do it but I let it go. I was unable to leave after this was done - as the teenage daughter of the owner was complaining to me that she has 400 pairs of shoes at home. I just wanted to pay and leave but she kept me there listening to her complain for 10 minutes before I could escape.

Very clean and well kept! Excellent job on the nails! looking forward to going back.

Contrary to others who have reviewed before me, I have had nothing but an awesome experience at The Loft. Everyone is very pleasant, friendly and they go above and beyond. Owner run by both Jack and Sharon who care deeply about everyone (staff and customers) ... At least that's my experience.

I phoned to enquire about prices and make a booking, I was quoted $45 and as I live and work in Whistler (which means I make little money!) and decided that was an affordable price for a decent cut. The lady that cut my hair was nice enough, although didn't adhere to all my styling requests (shape etc). I thought 'whatever' and went to pay my $45+tax +tip... The lady at the counter (who I assume was the owner or at least the manager) told me my hair cut came to $75! I informed her that I was quoted $45 and she said (quite rudely and abruptly) "they must have misunderstood you on the phone and thought you said wash", which surprised me since the hairdresser cutting my hair knew exactly what I was there for and later reviewing the price list, a wash costs only $35-sounds bogus to me! I paid my $75 + tax + tip and left (obviously very upset! I'm not sure if this was an honest mistake or if it a scam they use to get more money out of people, but I was very upset about the whole situation and earning only $9 an hour, means I had to work 10 hours to pay off my half-decent haircut! A little ridiculous! I'd recommend getting a written quote before booking with Loft Hair Salon! Needless to say I will never be returning! If only everyone where like my regular hairdresser back home!
