So the Salon responded to this post and proved that they can be catty and argue with a customer rather than solve any problems or make things better! I guess I can say that they are good at pointing fingers? AWESOME, how is that for customer service? Although argumentative skills only work in the courtroom. Prices were not upfront, but of course they are going to cover their exposures. If you want to say prices were upfront then fine, I'm just making sure even the stupid people like me UNDERSTAND that. The two star rating "Meh. I've experienced better" is completely fitting as I have experienced exponentially better service at salons elsewhere - especially with the follow up on this post. Since they rather just argue with a customer I'm knocking it down to one star "Eek!" = even more fitting. All respectable companies will bend over backwards to retain and mend their customer relations. I guess I can't expect much from La Jolla, the only thing that talks to people here is $$$. They were the only Salon with appointments and I should have known better since that probably means no one wants to come here. When I was at the Salon, there was two other customers so maybe this institution is actively running itself into the ground by being so snide and rude to people. Good riddance. original post below $25 for a bang trim $99 spent on "deal" for Brazilian Blow Out $30 for having long hair (who does this with short hair???) $40 for the "ACTUAL" Brazilian Blow Out since apparently I only paid for the Brazilian Blow Out Zero $20 tip (because I'm not a jerk) Yeah, I'm not coming back ever. First of all lets address the fact that I'm apparently a complete idiot because I didn't realize my hair is as straight as its going to get. You know all those Brazilian Blow-out advertisements? I expected my hair to look and feel all silky like those pictures, apparently I already have straight hair though so the treatment did NOTHING to my hair. My stupid fault and I learned the hard way, I was tempted to go some where else to trim my bangs but I thought it would be silly to go salon hopping, I would have but I just didn't know it would end up costing so much here. If you have a kind heart and you see a girl come into your salon with straight hair that probably won't get sleeker or straighter with a Brazilian Blow out then tell her that, don't use her, take advantage, and gauge her! That's the other thing with this place, I believe their motto is "upsell! upsell! upsell!" because the girl doing my hair did anything she could to sell me more products and I'm such a naive push-over, they probably love their easy targets. Go elsewhere, and if your hair isn't curly, kinky, or really wavy, then there is no reason to get a Brazilian blow out!

I was a little hesitant, when walking into this salon for the first time without an appointment, and I got in right away with Jennifer Clark, Hair Designer. My hair was extremely damaged, due to straighting chemicals applied to already dry hair. My hair was very uneven due to breakage some pieces 1" from my scalp. She was able to cut it and made it look more balanced and got rid of the split ends. That is a true test of a great hair dresser in my book! She also turned me onto "Moroccan Oil" conditioning products that they sell at their salon. I'm happy to say my hair is finally not looking so much like straw. :) I will definately be making another appointment with her in the future.

This place is AMAZING! The atmosphere is relaxing and modern. The staff is exceptionally nice and accommodating, The pricing is fair and definitely worth it. The parking is now valet, however, if you get your ticket validated it is still free. Overall, I would recommend it to anyone.

Love this place! Right near by the UTC mall. Getting all dolled up while zipping a latte. Have been coming here for more than 2.5 years and my hair is in its best shape ever, looks beautiful and healthy. Get updated on latest hair styles and trends, my brilliant stylists: Sasha (queen of color) and Luis (the master of cuts). Love the whole crew. Check it out!

EXCELLENTE!!! Traveling through San Diego and found Evian through google. Always scary to go to a new place, but on the road you do what you what's necessary. Randy was amazing! He gave me an excellent cut/color and made me great. Totally recommend them. I will definitely return!
