Rudy's Barbershop

I just wanted a short man's haircut, nothing difficult really. The hair cutter insisted that she could do it with a buzz cut just as good as with the 'style cut'. It looked so-so after she had put a lot of gel in, after washing my hair I look like a toilet brush that was run over by a truck. I got a good haircut at that place before, but the hairdresser I got this time was a hairmonger.
ffffff you get an f. I came in for a buzz and paid a handsome $30 for it. thanks rudy. i was told, as if it is some time honored tradition, that if you use more than one blade on your clippers it is a $30 haircut not a $12 buzz. Never mind the 5 minutes of back breaking labor it took to cut my almost bald head!!! ffffffff
I sat down and said, "I'd just like a trim. Just take a little off. I'd like to keep it long." She (the barber) says, with a heavy Cantonese accent, "so, an inch off everywhere?" I agreed to this, as I really just wanted to get rid of the split ends, but said to take a little more than an inch off in the back to even things out. (it had become a little too mullet-like). So she proceeds to hack away at my hair with a straight razor, a technique with which it would be impossible to take off an inch anyway. She hacked off between 3 and 6 inches, taking away hair that I had taken a year to grow out. At that point, I told her to just take it all the way to a short boy-cut, since by that point it looked UTTERLY different from what I came in with and she completely ignored what I said and also what she said she would take off. I can't believe I tipped her! It turned out looking good, but it was just about the opposite of what i wanted and what I asked for at first. It's going to take well over a year to grow back my hair to the length it was, which I clearly told her I wanted to keep roughly the same. She basically wanted me to tell her, "take an inch off above the ears, and two inches off the back. Take an inch and a half off the top, and an inch and three quarters off the bangs." I've got scissors and clippers at home. How about instead of paying you $35+ for a haircut, I just do it myself, since you seem incapable of basic communication?
Came here for the first time March 2011. Got "Ciara" as my hair-cutter. she did an excellent job and had a really fun, easy going energy about her. I usually am disappointed with haircuts - barbers always seem to leave parts of my hair way too long/cut way too short and i look like an idiot for a few weeks while it grows back out. this cut was nothing like that though - very pleased with how my hair looks - she took just enough off in the right spots and not too much. I would recommend going when its not too busy so that the barber will be more relaxed and take their time with you.
He is awesome. He has been cutting my hair since 2000 and I will follow him wherever he goes. I have had every cut you can think of from long and edgy to short and sassy. I always get compliments on my cuts...even weeks after I have seen him!
