Fuel A Salon

Experience the first time with Mara was good. Chatted with owner and they seemed to be truly concerned with customer service. Found this refreshing.
I have been going to Fuel for 2 1/2 years every 7 wks without fail. Currently i use Buff. She is amazing, my husband and i both use her. I will warn you that she takes a ton of time, probably more than needed but i would rather her take all the time she needs to listen to me and make sure its right then rush. Make sure you don't have to be anywhere. But i love fuel and the staff and the atmosphere. Its Amazing!!
I have been going to Julie for over 2 years now and have NEVER ever had a bad experience. All of the stylists in there do an incredible job and I have never seen a bad cut or color yet! I am VERY VERY picky when it comes to my hair, and Julie knows exactly what would look good on me, she makes fantastic recommendations when I want to "change it up a little bit", and she is so fun to talk to while she's working her magic. All the ladies in there are so friendly and welcoming....would HIGHLY recommend Fuel to ANYONE!
I got a highlight touch-up and lowlights this weekend with Rachel, she was extremely knowledgeable and the color was exactly what I wanted. The salon has a nice feel and I enjoyed my experience. However, when I went to checkout, the charges made me feel like they went out of their way to nickel and dime me, highlights start at $55, I have long hair so I'll typically pay more but I just needed a touch-up and was charged $80 I assumed it was because I got lowlights as well but they charged me a separate $15 for that, and then $10 for toner. All of this was ok but then there was another charge for a haircut (which I did not get) she told me it was coded wrong and was for a shampoo and style, $24. I did not get a style, she simply blow dried my hair, had I known I was paying for a style, I would have had my hair actually styled. As far as I'm concerned shampooing and blow drying my hair is simply part of getting my hair colored, in 8 years of getting highlights I've never been charged for this. In fact they could not avoid washing my hair since it is required when coloring. Had I known it would be $24 to simply dry my hair I would have left with it wet. It kind of left a bad taste in my mouth after an otherwise great experience. Still undecided on whether I'll go back.
This place is horrible. They spent EIGHT HOURS trying to "fix" my hair after coloring it. I came in the day before for a consultation, so they could see my hair and know what they were working with. I had basically dark brown hair and tried, on my own, to die it blonde. Bad choice, I know. It came out an orange-ish color. After my consultation, I made an appt to come back the following afternoon to have my hair fixed. After eight hours in the girls chair, and $200 dollars later, I still left the salon with semi-orange hair, certainly not blonde, and a mess of a "layered" hair cut which was about 3 inches shorter than I CLEARLY told them I wanted, against everything we had previously discussed and what we had agreed on. And this was AFTER the girl doing my hair had consulted other stylists in the salon, INCLUDING THE OWNER, who tried to "fix" the God-aweful haircut the stylist had given me. It was a TRAIN WRECK!!! After fueling a few days (no pun intended), hoping I would calm down, I realized that this wasn't something I should take lightly. These people not only RUINED my hair but refused to give me any money back, until I threatened ruining their name all over Tallahassee...I was FURIOUS! They agreed to give me $100 of the money back, because, I agreed that the stylist, sucky or not, should be paid for her time...even though I looked a hot mess and had to pay another $150 at a better salon to have it fixed, as good as it could be fixed at that point. DO NOT GO TO FUEL. They are HORRIBLE! And the owner is a total B!!!
