Yes, this salon's in Marlborough- but trust me: it's a "metro-cool salon" with "city talent" that just happens to be in the suburbs. (And really, all that means is tons of easy parking!) I've been here three times now, for cuts and color, and I absolutely LOVE IT. The services have all been top-notch, the products they use are great, the stylists are friendly (no attitude at a nice salon is RARE!), and the place itself is CRAZY COOL! Apparently the building used to be a shoe factory, and there are elements of the old place all around- incredibly well-incorporated into the contemporary remodel. (Which, if I'm being honest, should probably be featured in DWELL or some show on HGTV.) Go early and ask if you can walk around- there are half a dozen bathrooms (in just as many styles), large treatment rooms, space for kids' parties, studio space that would be perfect for yoga, and a long double-height gallery with a promenade overlook that features some of the coolest lighting fixtures I've ever seen. If this salon were in Boston it would be impossible to get an appointment, AND you'd easily pay hundreds of dollars for a cut and color- not here. I was shocked at how reasonable the prices were - and very impressed with the results. I'd give the salon 5-stars in a heartbeat, BUT they haven't started offering the full menu of spa services... I'm chewing off my fingernails waiting for them to start offering a full range of massage and spa offering - and then I'm booking an entire day... Definitely going back- can't recommend it enough. (Just don't tell too many friends please- I don't want it to become the cool place everyone in the city schleps out to for their spa/salon day...)
