Snip-Its

This past weekend I was at Snip-Its with my grandchild and I was shocked at what I heard one stylist say to a small child. This supposed professional stylist ACTUALLY HIRED to work with children looked at this child who was already upset, "Why are you looking at me like I am the ANTI-CHRIST?"! I was appalled! We sat there for nearly one hour and watched this woman walk back and fourth many times in what seemed to me, and I am sure other customers as well, like she was avoiding us. She was, in my opinion, impatient and down right rude to people. I will, on the other hand, say the woman who cut my grandchild's hair was wonderful. Although the lady in the front chair did not have any direct contact with me or my grandchild, THANK GOD, I think this needed to be recognized. We will probably not be coming back.
The website shows a place that looks fun, inviting, clean and great place to bring kids. When I walked in, the lady was rude and treated us as though we were wasting her time. The place was run-down, dirty and damaged. It was depressing, to say the least. The "cartoons" they play are cheesy and too hard to see from the distance of where the kids sit to watch during their haircuts. The only good thing ( and only reason why there was at least one star) is because of the gentleman who cut my daughter's hair. He was very patient, kind and good with my daughter. The lady, on the other hand, was impatient with other kids, and even got in their face a couple times and yelled- not mean, but not helping the situation at all with a scared kid. She was very abrasive. My suggestions to this place- remodel or at least take out the old, broken and damaged things and replace new. Also- have employees that are calm and patient and know how to work with kids- at every age. I will not come back- nor will I recommend to anyone. If anything, I will recommend Kids Cuts in Maple Grove. We've been there- and will definitely go back.
Horrible customer service. My daughter and I walked into the salon. Both stylist were busy, it was about 10:30am. One stylist finished up and walked away from us. She went to go sit in the back and make us wait through the entire other kid's haircut. Then the one who was still out there finishing up with the kid than helped us after 15 minutes. During my daughters haircut another family walked in and the stylist comes out from the back and helps them right away. My daughter just turned a year old. She has long bangs. I asked the stylist to do a bang trim. She trimmed her bangs, not as short as I wanted, she said we needed to train them and she didn't want to cut anymore. She than said she we should even out one piece in the back. She cut one piece not more than a centimeter of hair. She charged us for a full haircut. 16.50 instead of 7. My daughter didn't even have enough hair to put in the little bags and take home and keep in her baby book. So all in all I spent 30 dollars on my one year old's haircut! I complained to customer service and they gave no response. I called the salon and they did the same. I will never go back there and not recommend this to any other parent.
Called 3 times this am to see if they took appointments, phone rang 4 times and went to voice mail each time. Decided to head over there as the website says, walk ins welcome. When we got there, we were told it would be a half-hour wait (which is a long time for an 18month old). I asked if they take reservations, she replied only if you are a VIP (aka, pay $25 annual fee for the ability to make reservations). Pretty disappointed as the atmosphere looked fun, but I'm not going to pay just for the ability to make an appointment ahead of time. We made an appointment. for tomorrow at a different spot.
phoned to inquire about children's mini manicures. I was told that they file the nails and put on a coat of nailpolish and a flower on each nail. They do not take appointments. When I came with my Granddaughter and were seated for our mini manicure, the staff said that they do not know how to "do flowers"and when she asked the other staff working, she didn't either. I told her to try as I felt $6.00 for one coat of polish was not worth it but I didn't feel we could leave and disappoint my Granddaughter. the stylist said she would try to do one on each thumb nail, after she said she would do one on one other nail. I am glad she tried but the end result was amatuerish and I probalby could have done better myself. I feel I should have been informed when I called that not all stylist can paint flowers on fingernails. I would have picked another time to come when someone was there that could do this proceedure.I do not feel that the mini manicure received was worth $6.00. Upon reading other reviews it would appear that when would be customers call for information, they are not given it. I am going to call the owner and tell her of my disappointment.
