EVOLUTION - THE SALON
Reviews
I got my hair done by a junior stylist at Evolution. She was really nice and put alot of effort into my hair, so this is not to put her down or anything, and that is why I won't use her name either. But I told her that I didn't want my hair dried very straight, and also that I didn't like alot of heat. Perhaps she is young and inexperienced but she went on to precisely do just that - dry my hair in tiny little sections so that my hair got a huge blast of heat directly on each strand, then when it was dry, she kept drying over and over again till my hair was flat and static-y . It wasn't frizzy, per se, because she had straightened the life out of it. But it was somewhat dull, oily looking, and lifeless when she was done. I NEVER use heat on my hair, and this woman managed to use enough heat in one sitting to prob do some damage to my strands, that's how much she overdried. My advice to any hairstylist (this has happened to me occassionally at other salons) is that listen to your client. Women don't say things aggressively, but if someone like me timidly mentions more than once that I don't like alot of heat, esp while you are drying my hair, then PAY ATTENTION! She would have had me as a repeat customer if the last step of drying hadn't gone bad. Also I don't understand why stylists feel they have to dry the life out of hair till its stick straight. It's not natural and doesn't suit most of us - slight waves or volume works alot more. I came home and had to wash my hair immediately, I looked worse than I do when I just wash and wear. Anyway, that's my feedback, otherwise it was a nice place and I'll prob try it once more with a different stylist.
