I enjoy going to Shapers for my hair cuts and all my waxing needs. The atmosphere is professional and friendly. I'm always greeted by the owners with a smile. My stylist is Ann she listens to what I'm hoping my hair is capable of doing and she comes up with a style that I absolutely Love. I wish I could actually review it...I wasn't given the opportunity. Shapers was recommended to me by a friend. Having recently moved to the area from NYC/Westchester, I was looking for a local hair salon that knows what they are doing. I made an appointment and was not told at that time that all appointments are 30 minutes long, nor was I notified of that fact when they confirmed the appointment the day before my appointment. I rushed my entire morning to make sure I was on time for my appointment and traffic had me arrive 9 minutes late. When I arrived, the receptionist advised that the stylist, Lenore, would only be able to cut my hair and not blow it out..."as I was almost half way through my scheduled appointment." I don't know about everyone out there, but I know for sure you cannot blow out my hair in 30 minutes, let alone wash it and cut it. There was no way I was going to have her cut my hair and leave it wet, not knowing what my hair cut looked like. I have never heard of such absurd schedule. I would want the attention to discuss my hair cut with my stylist. This 30 minute rule is insanity!!! Lenore proceeded to ask if I would want to reschedule. Is she joking? I drove 15 miles out of my way to get to this appointment and they blew me off...I not only would have been a great client but I would have referred others to the spot. I will never try this place again!

Shapers is the best Salon in the Hudson Valley. The co/owners are both gifted and talented Colorists and Stylists. I do not tell them what I want, I let them suggest color and cut, what will look best on my face. Everyone from the Hair Wash Girls to the Mani-Pedi People and ALL the Stylists are excellent. They are always tking classes and stay current on the latest Looks and Product. TheY are THE MOST Friendly and Professional Salon I have been in and I have been in Salons all over the world. For 20 years they did my hair and I've been away for a few years, and so miss them! I will be back for a visit soon and already have my appointments for a full makeover! I miss them Terribly! The last Reviewer sounds like a negative person and might not be happy with anything! They back up their work, go in and speak to Shaun or Kelly, they will resolve the matter to make sure you are satisfied, if that is possible. When there are mis-understandings between 2 people, both parties are responsible, so look back at how you approached them,your own attitude! Kelly, Shaun, I cannot wait to see you on friday the 16th! Money wasted. Never has so much fuss made over a wash and trim. After explaining what I wanted - the stylist spent a full hour wasting my time with what amounted to - absolutely nothing. After saying that my hair looked completely unchanged, and uninteresting, the stylist made a few clips to the front, and told to feel free to come back and have my "bangs trimmed". This was after having said I didn't want bangs. While the staff was friendly, I did not want to pay for their company - I wanted to pay for a new hair cut.

I go to shapers whenever I can. Its a great salon experience, and I recommend it to anyone. A bit pricey, but worth it.
