Hibba NYC
Reviews
Love Hibba, I always see Neelam! She is fantastic and somehow always manages to make getting waxed a pleasant experience. Neelam is incredible at threading as well!
I was told about this place when I first moved to the city by an acquaintance and have been going here consistently ever since! That was more than one year ago! I can wholeheartedly recommend Neelam - she is friendly, gives good advice and is always letting you know what she is doing and why! The qualify of the services is great and the waxing specials they offer are great. Package deals that you buy upfront so you don't have to remember how many you have used or pay each time. Simple, easy, and accurate! I recommend buying the Agave exfoliating cloth that they sell in store (for sure in the SoHo location, but more than likely at the Madison Ave. one too).
I go there for brow threading. (I have not tried waxing any part of me.) With help from the women at Hibba, I grew out my brows and now they look great. I bought a package for brows, and I love how effortless is to make an appointment by phone or internet at their midtown or downtown location. The music is cool. They never try to hard sell. The atmosphere is welcoming and comfy.
I just received the worst wax job of my life. I was very specific in telling my waxer what I wanted done and not only did she wax me down to nothing (I told her NOT to...I have VERY sensitive skin), the job is uneven and spotty! I had strands of wax that I had to remove from my nether-regions when I got home. When she did my legs, at one point she held my leg in the air while ripping off hair. Weird! In all the years I've gotten a wax job, I have never had my leg held in the air. Other times, she twisted my calf to get a spot---I would have gladly rolled over if she had asked! I did not give a 1-star rating because, oddly, my eyebrow threading was amazing. Clean and exactly what I asked for. As for my legs, there are still wax spots I cannot remove a day later. As for my nether-regions, well, I am sore and red and disgustingly uneven.
It was my first time at Hibba Beauty and I was an hour late.. Not only was I nervous about getting a brazilian wax, but I felt terrible for being so tardy on top of it! I thought Hibba would be upset but when I walked in she greeted me with an introduction and a smile. She took me right in and answered all the questions I had running through my mind. When I told her I was a little scared she helped me take my mind off of the wax, and it was truly a pleasure being there. I recommend everyone go to Hibba. She is a true professional. I didn't feel a thing while she was threading my eyebrows, and the brazilian wax was wonderful. Going there once will make you into a regular!
