OMG I went in last week & had a deluxe "marine" pedicure with "Thai" massage, and it was one of the best I ever had anywhere. This place can be hit or miss. If you insist on something, you'll get it. They don't speak English well, so you have to be a bit adamant sometimes. But, it's an inexpensive place (compared to what I have paid in other states)
This is a great nail salon, Tonya and everyone else there are very, very friendly and very professional. They make it very easy to just walk in and get a manicure and pedicure. Definitely a place to go back to....and easy location. Lyndra
I have been to Galaxy Nails several times and they do an average to above average job on my nails. I have acrylics and they keep them pretty thin but do tend to go kind of wide around the nail bed sometimes. I will not go back again though after my last experience. My daughter is 9 and we love being able to spend "girl time" together getting our nails done. Usually, I won't let her get bright reds or the like as I feel they are too grown-up. This one time however, I let her choose a dark purple, almost black shade for her fingers and toes. The woman who did her nails did a great job and I was very appreciative that she asked me first if it was alright to paint designs. Most places just do it without my permission and try to charge extra. I paid around this time, before I was to get painted and just as my daughter was finished. I believe I tipped well, 20% for each tech as I had limited cash on me and they don't allow you to tip on your credit card (if not for that I probably would have given more!) but I did ask my tech to split a bill so she would get part and the other tech would get part and specified how much so it was fair based on the price of each service. Everything was going great until the chatter started, my nail tech started getting huffy and the four other girls in the salon kept asking my daughter if they could see her nails. They all seemed to be talking about her nails and looked rather irritated. My tech kept speaking in Vietnamese and then shaking her head. It all seemed very disapproving. Even my 9 year old noticed something was up! When we were dry, we got up to leave, I tried to thank my nail tech and say good-bye but she just ignored me as did the other tech who did my daughter's nails. I can't understand what I could have done wrong because I did tip properly and all I can assume is that they didn't like that my daughter got a dark or bold color?! The whole vibe was VERY off-putting and I won't be going back.
ok, i cant take off the last story to add to it of why i am now changing my rating from poor to excellent on account of my mom's redeeming experience just last evening. She went into the store and told them how rough the lady had been on her foot, and how extremely rude.. then this other lady whom i believe is one of the managers?..looked at my mom's feet because she was concerned and then gave her the delux treatment on her feet at no cost. She took much time with her, apologized and also went on to say they had fired that other person about 2 wks ago. Well I am glad to hear they fired her not for my mom's sake but for the sake of preventing my mom's experience from happening to anyone else. So I am impressed because I saw how happy she was and that the deed was well accounted for . :)
they literally made my cuticles bleed.
