Wonderful place, great haircut, incredible workers.

I sent the staff an email requesting an appointment for Wednesday on a Sunday night, and by Monday afternoon they contacted me with my preferred appointment time already set in the computer. Once I arrived with my 8 month old son, I sure was glad I had made an appointment at Sharkey's. The shop was clean, bright, well decorated, and full of fun things to entertain children. He had a blast, got an amazing haircut (by Kendra), and we received a goody bag of mementos from his first haircut all for $23. Will definitely go again.

My son got his hair cut at this place today and I can't tell you when I've been to a better place. It was clean, fun, and I got to watch my Rangers win a baseball game! I read the one of reviews below and it was definitely not the same experience. The staff was great and even though it was busy we got Jonathan's haircut in 30 minutes.

I tried to take my daughter for her first haircut here. At first she was in love, but 45 minutes later she left in tears with no haircut. The store opened at noon, and we walked in for an appt at 12:15. We were the third walk-in (no noon appts) and there were six chairs and 5 staff. We patiently and happily waited for our turn. But only two staff were actually cutting hair. One walkin decided to add a sibling cut, so we waited a little longer. Then the 12:30 appts started showing up and were taken back in front of us. I thought there might be a mistake so I went up to check, but was told that we would have to wait to see if there was space after the 1:00 appts (so maybe we'd get in at 1:30). Mind you this was my 3 yr old's first haircut and she was being exceptionally good during naptime. Even my 10 month old was holding it together. But you are telling me that we would have to wait 1.5 hrs to MAYBE get in? What kind of place has such awful customer service and policies??! I asked to speak to a manager, but was told that there was no manager on site and they would call me back within two days! I left furious and disappointed. Not once did the receptionist warn me of a 1.5 hr+ wait or apologize it was taking so long. Awful customer service and rude staff--stay away! I hated having to explain to my daughter why some people are just not nice.

All three of my kids beg to get a haircut at Sharkey's. With two girls and a boy that range in ages from 6 to 11 it is the perfect place. Thanks Sharkey's for making San Antonio kids haricuts better for the parents. I especially love the new location on Bandera Road!!
