The atmosphere is OK and the prices are ALWAYS changing/getting more expensive!! Ive been going to this hair salon for acouple of years, my hair WAS 85% healthy. What i noticed is that the owner treats you well and takes great care of your hair AT FIRST, but as the time goes on..and the more you visit + the more money you spent...she'll start slacking, BIG TIME!!! I went in to get my hair colored...a much lighter color than my natural dark brown, almost a medium brown. Anyways, acouple days after i left the salon i realized that my hair was splitting really bad...it was very much altered from what it usually looked like. Put it this way; It was obvious that my hair drastically changed for the WORST. To my knowledge, she didnt use hair color...but something like hair bleach to lift my natural color (I would NEVER EVER use any kind of harsh product in my hair like bleach or similar, because i know how damaging it is). She did NOT discuss the procedure before applying it to my hair; instead the owner and her so called assistant whispered around the shop while mixing my "hair color" in a secluded room located at the back of the store. They obviously knew what they were doing wasnt right, knowing that i wouldnt allow their decision and better yet..they didnt even speak to me while applying the cream to my hair....for 1hour an awkward silence took over the room, GUILTY GUILTY GUILTY!!! Several months later, im putting together all these pieces and ive got the truth. This place isnt worth your time, money or losing what you have left to your natural hair. BEWARE, ENTER AT YOUR OWN RISK LADIES!!!
I was going through a hair breakdown in the winter and I desperately needed to get my hair done. I went to In Ting because the previous reviewers wrote so highly of it. Since I am going natural, detangling my hair can be a headache. However, the lady that washed my hair did a really good job at detangling and she was extra careful. I felt like she got a lot of my knots out and she had a great attitude. The hairdresser or the owner, tried to rush the lady helping me and took over from the lady. I felt like the hair dresser was not gentle and the portion she did come experienced major hair loss. The owner has the basic hair supplies and products. The only product the owner really used when she was styling my hair that stood out to me was argon oil ( or something similar). I also found that the owner has a tendency to get defensive and she doesn't respect your opinions when they don't correlate with hers. She continuous mentioned I needed my hair trim and after explaining to her that I didn't want it trimmed but she continued to encourage me. I eventually caved in and allowed her to trim my hair. Unfortunately, I felt that the trim was more of a cut and I wasn't happy with the results. The owner doesn't take responsibility and she just argues with you. Overall, I paid $50 (I think) for a treatment. I would not return back to the salon unless I was extremely desperate but I my hair didn't break after going to In Ting. :)
The experience is unique.... don't wait for a great hair day!
