This place is overpriced with low quality products. Ladies, there are other smaller places in Ottawa you can purchase your hair. For years, I would buy from Mama Cee but its just not worth it anymore. I rather purchase my virgin hair from China or the States and pay duty (its still cheaper). Plus the customer service is horrible! They will treat you like they are doing you a favor or they dont have time for you. If you go to a store where you will be giving YOUR money but they ignore you - find somewhere else to go. As an African, I am ashamed that the customer service is so poor. This store has so much potential but the workers really need to be trained or replaced. Even the owners have an attitude. Ottawa really needs to give this place competition because right now we have limited options. They also never smile. I also discovered that when I dressed up (looked cleaned up) I got more of a responsive service. Which is truly sad! Save your time and go shop elsewhere!

Horrible customer service and no redeeming qualities. I used to go to Mama Cees quite a lot years ago when it was all there was in the city and there wasnt that much knowledge to be had about black hair care. Now that there are more beauty supply stores around black hair salons ( like sysue salon) and YouTube videos online to get reviews and advice from ppl using the products, there is absolutely no reason for me to go there. I went there on a whim the other day and nothing has changed. Bad service where the ppl there act like youre not there or that you are bothering them if you ask a question. Unless they know you they answer with a point or one word. I was looking at wigs with a friend touching the maniquin hair and out of the side of my eye I see a woman walking up to us. Thinking we were blocking her way we start to move on to the next to give her a chance to browse. I barely had my fingers out of the hair before the woman had a comb out "fixing" the wig that didnt even have one hair out of place. I appreciate the variety of products that they have but the place is packed all the time. Customers are climbing all over each other and the ppl working there seem oblivious to it all, stopping to have conversations & blocking traffic while ignoring customers. Either they need to get a better floor plan & keep less stock on the store floor or move to a larger location. I stopped by the salon so my friend could book an appointment. My biggest pet peeve is hair salons that take forever to do hair. As I sat waiting I saw a white girl getting her hair done and I felt so bad for her because the hair stylist was taking a comically long time flat ironing her hair. As a black woman I generally expect a visit to a black hair salon to take a long time. By the look on this girls face, she was not privy to this expectation. I have to admit the salon seems as though they are trying harder to clean up their image but they are still sub-par. There still is not a level of professionalism that will equate to keeping happy customers. I feel as though the ppl that keep going back either live in the area or dont know that there is better out there. I was even considering going back to get my hair pressed but when my friend came back from her appointment she told me that her stylist said that I needed to "fix my wig"...my $300 silk top virgin Malaysian....this coming from a 50 yr old woman who does hair for a living but was wearing a dry bleach blonde pixie cut wig where you can see tracks 10 feet away...Sorry but if you are running a business try not to throw shade to ppl you dont know and who could be potential clients. There are much better run places to buy from and to get service from than Mama Cee's. Always buy from and get your hair done from a place where its their beauty and not just money is their passion.

The so called stylist of this saloon are draining Cecilia's business down the drain with their unprofessional service to the customers. They are so rude and do not even do what you as a customer want, especially if you are not a regular. how are we to be regulars if we are not satisfied the first time?just because some of us have small bodies and the have big bodies does not mean you should claim that you are all that. Employees should tell their friends to stay out of matter concering the saloon. my sugestion is that Cecilai and her husband provide their contacts so that WE,the costomer can address our complaints directly to them. I am never setting foot there ever again and I promise to spread the word of their horrible service. Something needs to be done before someone reports the matter to the Canadian Customer Services.

The cashier was rude. I had a purchase and she said "that's too small a purchase to use debit." There was no sign saying what the minimum limit was for debit. Another day, my daughter had to pee really really badly. I thought she would pee her pants. She was yelling "I have to pee mommy". I asked to use the washroom and they told me I should go across the road. Will not shop there again. I find them rude and abusive.

I have always gone to Mama Cee's for my hair extensions, and I do admit their probably the best in town and best priced. However, the customer service is horrendous. The women who work there are so rude and ignore you and just talk to one another. Don't even BOTHER asking questions because they will tell you false solutions to your problems or questions. I now just research and go in and immediately just purchase the extensions. They don't let you touch the extensions either, to feel the texture or anything. Horrible service, but awesome extensions. You weigh it out.
