Sassoon Salon

Loved my experience at this salon! Chad was amazing and his assistant was professional and had experience! When I come back for a visit, I will def be stopping in to this salon!!
I am new to Chicago and thought it was time to get my bangs trimmed. So I picked one of the top rated salons. I also had a friend recommend this to me as she had her hair done there and loved it. So I made an appointment for Saturday with Jeremy at 230pm. Upon my arrival I was told me Jeremy himself that he didn’t know he had an appointment and that he was on his way out. My appointment was written down in the calendar. Issue #1 the receptionist didn’t inform him of his client for that afternoon. Lack of communication? Instead of taking a few mins and owning up to his mistake in not being aware he decided to hand me off to a “senior stylist” who would trim my bangs. When I asked her how many years of experience she had in cutting hair she refused to answer. Instead the front desk lady yelled over and said she had over 35years of experience, bullshit. Once I was seated and gowned in the backroom, this stylist then began yelling at me telling me she wasn’t comfortable cutting my hair as she didn’t know me!! She was only going to cut my hair once so I had to like it first time. I said well please only cut half an inch because I want to keep my bangs long. I closed my eyes for her to start cutting and she had cut nearly 2 inches off!!! I was getting more and more upset. I had asked please not to cut much off in length but to layer out the top. Issue#2 hairstylist didn’t know how to take instruction and wasn’t able to comfortably cut my hair. A very nerve wrecking experience for any client. She realized that she really messed up and called over Gary another senior stylist. He was more polite and friendly. But again kept cutting away at my hair. By this time I was moments away of breaking down in tears. I do not like short hair and this high-end salon cannot follow a customer’s request. I walked over to the front desk to my pay my $10 service fee very very upset. I explained the situation to a different receptionist. She was very kind and caring about the matter and called over a higher ranked hairstylist Chad. He then observed my hair and agreed with me that my experience was a nightmare and said I didn’t have to pay for the service. Which is nice of him. However I am still with short bangs and look awful. I cannot say I am happy with the professionalism and the lack of listening to my request. I do not recommend this place and am terribly dissatisfied with what was supposed to be a very quick simple and routine task for these hairstylists. This place is disorganized. I 100% dislike this salon. They should have let me leave happy so I would return or at least have a positive thought about them, but they didn’t care and were more than happy for me to leave quite obviously upset.
Today was my first visit to this salon. I went to the desk to check in (they didn't have my name even though I made an appointment days ago) and then I told them it was my first time there and asked if there was anything I should know. The girls at the desk were completely condescending and rude, ignored me, and made me feel stupid. The guy who was going to cut my hair, Christian, told me it would be about another twenty minutes til he was finished with his current client. It took him an HOUR AND A HALF to finish and no one came to check in with me or update me. THEN, when he finally finished, he made me PAY FIRST at the counter, then he took me to his chair where he promptly told me it was too late to cut my hair. I insisted on getting my money back (BECAUSE THEY WEREN'T GOING TO DO ANYTHING!!) and he and the receptionists were rude, rude, RUDE. I have never been to a place so demeaning, belittling, and condescending. I will never go back there and they will never get my business. They definitely need to work on their customer service skills and overall politeness.
