Went here based on quality reviews. Believe the other reviews on actual haircuts, I never even made it that far - too frustrating of a set-up. Hopefully this will help you avoid that and have a more 5 star experience yourself. Beware of the slightly complex system for walk-ins. The website says "Walk Ins Welcome" but I definitely didn't feel welcome. Showed up at 1015 am (15 minutes after they open). Saw two people sitting down waiting so figured it wouldn't be that bad and sat down. However, I was wrong. I was directed towards a computer the sing in. There is a system to put yourself on a wait list online which you can do from home and then sort of get ahead of the game. In reality there were 6 or 7 people in line already despite only 2 actually being present. Walking over there did me no good at all. If you want to go here, sign in online and work the system which doesn't value actually showing up in person. Wait times were over 110 minutes. Didn't want to wait nearly 2 hours so decided to leave and go somewhere else.

I've been going to Slade's Barbershop consistently for over 6 months now, which to me is saying something because I went years from bouncing around trying to find a place with a great stylist. Matthew has been cutting my hair, which is a simple cut yet very few seem to be able to do it good consistently, but he does. Every time I walk out really happy about the hair cut for the entire time up to the next cut. IT LASTS! Which is the biggest difference. I've also had my cut done by Timmy and Greg and they are both great as well. I highly recommend making this your easy, affordable haircut home. I am.

Great new barbershop in town! Its great to see a fresh new face on Halsted and not a trick from last night. Slade's barbershop is a welcome addition to the variety of stores on Halsted. They provide great cuts at decent prices (cash only) you can call ahead or text their system to get on a waiting list which is common on weekends, at other times walk right in. Pro tip: Check out the art in the bathroom for some fun!

If you want a great haircut, you need to go to Slade's. The workstaff is all very confident in their skills. They have an online reservation system and seem to be very flexible with their customers. I remember one barber who agreed to stay longer because his client was stuck in traffic. I've gotten multiple great haircuts from this place. Great quality place.
