I have been going to Muki's for the past 6 years and I am very particular about my hair and the styles that I get, but I finally got hooked at Muki's braiding shop. They are fast and friendly, they always assist you to choose a style if you need their help. Muki the owner is a sweet heart, she attend to her customer's need and make sure you are satisfied before you leave her shop. I asked my family and colleagues to always go to Muki's and they are never disappointed with their work. When I had problem and call Muki she is always ready to work with me all the time until I am satisfied.. One day Muki surprised me with 50% off my hair style plus an extra coupon that I always have any way. When I asked why she said that is what they do for their customers once in a while and I happened to be there, OMG!!! I was over joy, don't take my word for it you try them first. I Highly recommend this braiding salon to any one that care about quality braids, good service . affordable and fast

Muki should not be in business - period!! If you are considering patronizing this establishment, please rethink your decision. Customer service is non-existent, attitudes of employees are poor, and the quality of the hair braiding is remarkably average. Somehow, these folks fail to realize that without customers, they would have no business. Paying money for any service here is not worth it. Muki, the owner, (and her staff) are consistently late and have no regard for punctuality specific to customer appointments (and, of course, they are unapologetic even when the wait time (consistently) exceeds one hour). [Hmmmm, I wonder how Muki and her staff would feel if all customers with appointments consistently showed up more than one hour late, with no apology/explanation?] "Time" is valuable. Braiding is such a lengthy process, some people take time off work for these appointments. So, waiting for a stylist for more than one hour (when you have an appointment) is completely unacceptable, reckless, and unprofessional. Muki NEVER apologies for her consistent tardiness, and her arrogance is sickening. Next, Muki and her staff are usually on the telephone when they are braiding your hair and - most times - remain on the telephone during the duration of your appointment. Talking directly into the ears of customers is extremely uncomfortable and aggravating; in addition, culturally, Africans speak loudly. To make matters worse, the television in the shop is EXTREMELY loud; therefore, imagine trying to enjoy the "getting your hair done" experience with the television blasting and staff attempting to over-talk the television volume while on their cell phones (all in the ears of the customers). Braiding establishments in the DC, MD, and VA area are a dime a dozen. Muki's business is not customer-focused; in fact, the customer is not even an after-thought. As long as you pay Muki for the high-cost hairdo, she could care less about you or your hair. Muki's only concern seems to be the almighty dollar . . . the chedda . . . the Benjamins . . . la mullah, ya'll. . . el dinero!! In addition, Muki routinely requires payment BEFORE she finishes your hair. Really? Who does that . . . and why? Also, the prices are not posted and (surprise) consistently change, making it - in essence - easy for this company to steal from you - as the prices change randomly and at will; therefore, you never pay the same price for the same work . . . you pay more. This establishment is a money factory - plain and simple. Trust me, your money will spend better elsewhere. My experience at this establishment was disastrous (at best), and I will never return!! GOOD RIDDANCE!!
