First and foremost, this is the best haircut I've ever had in my life. Jorge is a barber who knows his business, and does it right. Never before have I had a haircut like this. Usually I never speak with my barber, but I had a great conversation about colleges, parenthood, and everything in between with Jorge, and then the whole shop. The atmosphere is DEFINITELY not for everybody: If you don't like kids and a fun atmosphere, then it's not for you. Between the toys on the shelf, the Xbox in the corner, and the promise that if you can beat the barber at foosball you get a free haircut, it's definitely not a place you would describe as a "salon." But to tell you the truth, the absolute best part of the whole experience was that for all that great attitude, wonderful conversation, and fantastic haircut, I paid $20, including the 33% tip. That's right: $15 for a haircut, from a guy who knows how to make a man look sharp, is fast, and has a great time doing it. The last time I had a haircut this good, I paid $90 for the privilege and got treated like $&%^ by the barber because I was unworthy to sit in his chair. I travel to Schenectady about once a month, and I will no longer be getting my hair cut at home: I will be coming here from now on. You may get a sharper haircut, a more rarefied atmosphere, or a cheaper cut elsewhere, but I can guarantee you won't get all that in one anywhere else.

Probably one of the best hair cuts I've ever had. I had to wait a little longer than expected because I didn't make an appointment, but it was definitely worth the wait. The days following my haircut I got offered a new job with a raise, was asked out by 5 different women, and landed a modeling job with Calvin Klien, all because they said they like my hair... But seriously.... I learned a few things after getting my hair cut at Schenectady Barber Shop. 1) Jorge is the master of scissors and razors. He is definitely an artist in his own right! 2) It's still possible to get a great hair cut at an affordable price. And 3) Make an appointment if you plan on coming in at 5pm, because you may end up waiting :)!!! Great place! 5 STARS! PS... If you're a dog person, Elvis is a great dog!

I have been going to SBS to see Jorge for three years now and not once has he ever let me down. The cuts are on point every single time and i feel as if each time i go i leave happier than the time before. They have a great atmosphere and it really is run the way a barber shop should be. I will be a loyal customer of SBS and Jorge for years to come - keep up the great work Jorge and if you haven't stopped into the SBS yet - you are missing out!

Service is outstanding, expert barbering skills, great value! I've paid 3x as much for a basic haircut in other cities. Schenectady Barbershop can't be beat for service and value and just a great overall experience! Jorge and Sue are awesome and it's always nice to have Elvis the dog greet you at the door :)

Jorge is one of the best barbers I've ever had my hair cut from. He has great attention to detail and is gifted in his craft. Highly recommended.
