This place is the worst! I walked to the store, and received many of stares from the staff, but yet no one greeted me. I walked around the store for about 20 min.s before I found the eye liner and false lashes, that I was looking for. Even at this point no one asked if I found what I was looking for or anything alone those lines. My sister met me in the store and received the same treatment that I have. If it was not for the fact that the eye liner was cheaper at Ulta, I would have just left. when checking out, the woman asked if i had the rewards card? that was the last thing she said to me. (Not even advocating that I should get the card) I wont be going back. Also, only two cashiers open, but yet there were about five staff members doing nothing around the cashiers. The only reason I walked into the store was the fact that I have heard nothing but great things, but I am not impressed. I love buying makeup and stuff, and to try things for the heck out it, but I would rather pay twice the price at any other store.
The most important thing I have to say about this Ulta is that Ashlee in the salon in wonderful with hair. Whether its cutting, coloring, highlighting, extensions, she's great at it all. I have an appointment with her in a few days. I had seen her for a cut and color/highlights and thought it was great. Then I went back and she did full extensions on me and I looked like a supermodel. If you go in, just ask for before and after extension pics she gave to her bosses. I was her guinea pig. She used me to show them that she knew how to put in a certain type of extension. So if you're interested in getting them, ask to see the pic and you will see that they are awesome and she is awesome at doing them. Aside from Ashlee, the rest of the store is good too. They always have some type of free gift to give away. The girls working there are great at helping you find what looks good on you. They don't rush you like "hurry up so I can get to next person". They use tons of samples on you and show you how to apply if you don't know how. The things I love though is that I can go in looking like crap - no makeup, hair a mess, and they still give you first class attention. Other places wont give you a second look unless you are dressed to the nines and have a look on your face that says "I'm better than you".
Oh my gosh! I just got back from Ulta and their deals are AMAZING. I found a mini straightener for JUST $10.00! And their nail polish deal is AMAZING! Spend 9.95 on OPI Nail Polish and you get a mini fall colors pack for free! I will shop here for a LONG time, I can't wait to go back!
Having been to this Ulta before, I knew that the manager would work to upsell me as much as possible. But, when I came here for my Birthday Brow free waxing, I left miserable. First of all, they only do the waxings for free between Sunday and Saturday of your birthday week. Since it's Friday and my birthday is Monday, I had to beg them to do it. Finally, I offered to pay. I had finally gotten my brows to where I wanted them and just needed a bit of clean up (which I was clear about and she agreed on). After the waxing and tweezing, I got a free makeup application. I went home and washed my face, since it was not quite the *look* I wanted for my birthday dinner. Upon doing so, I saw that the pretty brows I left the store with were created entirely by the makeup! My actual brows, the ones that just needed to be tidied, were all but gone! Now, I have to start all over (from another bad waxing job at another Ulta brow bar) and color them in the way my grandmother used to. Happy birthday to me. I look horrible. Worst of all, since it was free, I can't even ask for my money back. I just called to ask what I could do after "getting my brows destroyed today at a brow bar" and she told me that it would take 6 months to a year for them to return and that wasn't it awful when you got a bad brow wax. She didn't even apologize.
Made an appointment with the Salon for the new OPI gel promo. Less than 24 hours from setting my appointment they called to move it. When I arrived, I was told Mina had left and I would have to wait for someone else to become available. I waited only to return to hear a staff member ask Mina what she did with the bathroom key. Turns out Mina didnt leave, Mina was busy getting her hair colored. I left, emailed corporate and won't be back. I found another nail salon who was less than 3 doors down who took me as a walk in, was cheaper and was even able to wax my brows. (No one was available at the Ulta brow bar, right!)
