BEWARE of the man who works at this place. What happened here was very unusual. I went in to have a simple haircut, a trim of 1 inch and ended up with 6 inches hacked off, not an ideal haircut for my face. This happened because the man who works there did not follow my instructions. He disregarded anything I requested and he said, "we'll fix you up." His entire approach and demeanor was sexist and condescending as he proceeded to do a very uneven cut. He also seemed hard of hearing. The professional who manages this store is a very nice lady who told the man to leave and then proceeded to salvage what she could. Hopefully she will be able to hire someone else soon who is capable of helping her out.
My wife and I have been going to A Cut Above for several years. She gets coloring and a cut and I just get a cut. The salon's owner, Holly, is the person to ask for although there are good stylists available Weds. when Holly has a day off. Not only do you receive excellent styling and service (Holly has all the skills) but you can learn anything you want about what is happening in Jackson. Great service at a reasonable price.
