I took my girlfriend to this place for full highlights about 2 weeks ago. Everybody was extremely nice. They offered snacks and drinks. I took a bottle of water and my girlfriend had some hot chocolate. The environment was very professional as well. So for these things, this review is more on the fair to good side then poor side. The highlights took 4 to 5 hrs, no big deal, so I left and went home. When I came back I could IMMEDIATELY tell that my girl's hair had been cut, solely on the fact that it was so awfully executed. My girl always have her hair cut in layers and I could tell that's what the stylist tried to do. However it was poorly done and very spotty. I was extremely angry we paid about $145 so that she could receive an amateurish hair cut. I use to cut my guy friends' hair and I too could have done the same job as the stylist did, not even exaggerating. I asked my girl and the receptionist who cut her hair and found out it was the same stylist who colored it. Listening to my girl and not wanting to embarrasses her, I promptly left before I blew my top and did not make a scene. The next day in the morning light I quickly found out that the amateurish job did not end with the hair cut (complimentary by the way). I didn't say anything at first because my girl was so excited. Mainly for the fact that it was a new look and at a glance it did look pretty good. But the more I looked the more frustrated I became. There was at least an inch gap between the base/root and the highlighted part of her hair. The next two days consisted of my girl catching me just staring at her hair with grimace. The next day I called and talked to the manager. She was very professional and understanding. The customer service received is excellent. I called very angry and within seconds I calmed down and had a pleasant conversation with her. She was more than accommodating in setting up a new appointment to fix the problem. We just went in for the new appointment yesterday. Not at all for Virtue's lack of effort but because of business trips on our side. And I was very surprised that they honored their agreement with me to see my girlfriend for a free appointment even though it took so long for us to come in. But anyways, the manager colored my girlfriends hair herself and did a pretty good job at fixing the problem that occurred the previous time. The problem now is this even though they were nice : 1) she argued with my girl saying the gap was due to new growth (no ones hair grows that fast) 2) gave excuse stating that her stylist didn't want the color to "bleed" onto her scalp. (I understand about not bad mouthing your employee, but don't make excuses for them when they mess up, also if you got so close to the scalp without the color bleeding why can't the other employees do the same?) 3) the color is uneven in the front, and when my girl asked her about this after being dried, she said she wanted to show some of her natural hair Overall the reason for my disappointment and the reason why we wont come here again is this: the quality of work received from the manager should have been given by the stylist the first time, and being the manager more was just expected. One should not have paid $145 for a (in my opinion) $15 hair cut and a $40 maybe $45 coloring. Customer service is needed in the customer service industry, but skill is also when dealing with a salon.

As I'm visiting Charlotte from out of town and needed a haircut, I did an internet search for salons in the area. I saw that Virtue Salon had many great reviews and therefore decided to go there. I have to say that I was extremely happy with the haircut and service I received. Roxanne, the stylist, listened to my thoughts and made some suggestions, and the results were exactly what I was looking for. She is obviously a very skilled stylist as she asks the right questions before she begins. I was a little suspicious of all the great online reviews, but my experience definitely surpassed my expectations. If I'm back in Charlotte, I will definitely go back to Roxanne and Virtue Salon + Spa.

I love this salon and Kelsey is the absolute best. Her coloring is so good that my roommate started going to her as soon as she saw my hair. I wouldn't think of going to anybody else!
